How many pieces of clothing in your wardrobe?

I just cleared out even more stuff, I didn't count but I think I have about 35 pieces now. My closet is empty and I like it.

Haha

I spoke before I counted my own pieces...

I've got exactly 40 pieces.....wardrobe looks great - like a shop rail - but having that few pieces does mean they'll wear out more quickly...all the reason to go shopping again!:smile1:

I think you might find that being so minimalist means your clothes wear out quicker and need replacing more often.

I don't have that much and I don't rotate very well either, so my clothes wear out...

You can carry minimalism a bit too far lol:smile1:

I like having fewer clothes since everything I have in my closet is a favourite that I actually wear. Of those clothes about 1/2 are sweaters so they do get rotated, I only have 3 pairs of pants so those get kind of abused. I'd like to add a few more things but I'm waiting for the perfect pieces to come along.

I'm not much better myself- I only have 40 pieces, so I have the same problem:graucho::graucho:

Well, it cannot be that bad if you still have so many unworn pieces, some even with tags still on, in your wardrobe as you said in another thread. ;)

It's because I buy in multiples...so when one wears out I move onto the next...but it does mean I always look the same lol:cool::cool:

I must buy some different clothes to vary my look which has become my uniform....you probably have more different outfits than me!!!::smile1:

The bad thing about buying up in multiples is that by the time you wear them they don't fit!!!

I am wearing a shirt today that I have 3 of, identical, and they're all too big, but bought ages ago so too late to take back.

I guess I'll wear them as layers underneath my jumpers through the winter but in the future I'll wear my clothes when I buy them...:smile1:

Going shopping tomorrow assuming flu has calmed down - this time I'll only buy things I've tried on that fit!!!:smile1:

Wow, I wish I had more self control in shopping like some of you ladies. I have over 50 pairs of pants/jeans/leggings and pants are pretty much my least favorite thing to buy!

Last year I had NO self control..

I spent a fortune online, most of it didn't fit..some I tried on (jeans) and returned for refunds or credits, some (the shirts) I didn't and now I'm stuck with a row of shirts that are too big!

So don't worry, you're not alone!!

Next year I'm only buying clothes that fit:smile1:

Online shopping is treacherous!!!

Online shopping is treacherous!!!

I agree..

The worst thing is that all of the designer jeans came from the US and had to be returned fully insured and registered (and I had to pay customs duty on lots of them).

The time and money I wasted in the post office (ran into nearly £300 overall) could have bought me something nice in the UK...

Luckily this year my jeans all came from the UK...but I'm still living with a pile of online sale shirts that are too big which I didn't try on so I'm stuck with them...:smile1:

Well I started to tally up my items and it will take some time. But based on what I've done so far I would estimate at 500 pieces. Coats/jackets alone are 60 total. X.x

Would live some pics of your closet :)

At home I have a small closet maybe a little smaller than yours even! And only one rail. I have 2 dressers and frankly my room is a disaster area i have a good amount of stuff at my bf's place... So my closet isnt luxurious or anything! I do have stuff organized in the following manner: closet has dresses, shirts that need ironing, blazer, coats, some fancier skirts. All are organized by color and length. For tops I organized by sleeve length color and textile.

Drawers: tanks, ts, jeans, lounge wear, casual skirts, sweater. Try to organize by color but my drawers are packed! :/

However in the future I plan to have a closet space in a basement room at bf's.
