How long should I let this go on?

Thanks for the sweet post ladies :)
I did everything I could think of. I even called the different bank branches until I found the one she used in NC. At first the person I spoke with confirmed that she did have an account there, but she had not seen her in awhile. The next time I called she would not say anything except for me to contract the Internet Fraud Division of that bank. I did - they told me there was nothing they could do.
The name of my contact person was Sabrina, she said the owners name was Ann.
Ann was suppose to have a boutique in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, as well as the NC location. I found out the NC address was a residential address. I called to the city and found out there was no business license issued to ABS Designs. I called every resale boutique in the Buckhead area of Atlanta that was listed in the phone directory to see if they had heard of Ann or the business names. None of them had.
I did everything except hire an attorney. I did not know if even that would help.

Well it's Friday, and depending where you are, if the money has not been wired you are looking at waiting another weekend.
Again, I am really sorry about this, I hope you get resolution soon.
Please let us know if something happens today. (hugs)

if she has stated that the wire has been sent, ask her for a confirmation number and the specific brach from which it wa sent and their phone #. then you can call her bank in Asia and provide the # and confirm that it has been sent or not. this number is like a "footprint" and is unique to this specific wire, your bank might even be able to track it but it is better tracked from teh sender. Or ask her to fax the wire transfer request to you. good luck to you and please do keep us posted. i am very very sorry for your loss. :hugs:

oh, god - this is horrible.

Goldens Mom - there are not words enough to express how sorry I am for the loss of your ex as well as the additional pain this horrible person is causing you.

Penny - I am sorry to hear you were taken in a scam! I appreciate that you are willing to share your experience with us - it is certainly a cautionary tale!

Scammers make me sooooo mad!!!

Golden's Mom, I hope everything works out for you. Think you should let the Mods know about this seller. He/She should be off the reputable list for such a nightmarish experience whether their bags are authentic or not!

Penny, hugs to you! Thank you for sharing you experience with us.

Golden's Mom, my prayers are with you...so much stress! If you don't get satisfaction expose this seller. Keep us posted.
Penny, GOOD GOD...what a nightmare! Have you considered a private investigator? They can do alot over the phone (cheaper), getting personal info you couldn't get. If you could get this person's address you could contact the authorities. Everyone leaves a paper trail of some kind. This is grand larceny, hard to pursue over state lines, but for this amount, worth a try. At least you'd have the satisfaction of reeking some havoc!

I am sorry about the passing of your ex. Here's hoping you've already got your refund.

Absolutely, TPF mods should know about this crook. What she is doing is immoral. She is tainting all those sellers in her area that are legit. With your experience, Why should any of us risk buying from that location? If she's on the reputable list here, we have no clue who she is. She needs to be kicked off immediately.

Penny - file with the state attorney general, in each state she's done business in. Years ago, I had a similar thing happen (for $5,000) & they let me know there were lots of others she had scammed. She went out of business & closed shop. (If I had acted sooner & not let her blow sunshine up my backside for weeks, I might of got my money back.) If I want a claim on record against her, if she should open a business again, I needed to file with the AG.

Well, an update. Some of the money has been paid...via paypal echeck. Of course, I have to wait until it clears. However, there is still an outstanding balance, apart from what I agreed to for the cancellation fee. I think a lot of the problem is just miscomunication. And, I have to assume a good deal of the responsiblilty. I shouldn't have purchased an item on a whim, knowing that the estate issues are FAR from being worked out. I can't express how much everyone's thoughts, good wishes and compassion have meant to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

GM, well, that is good news that at least part of the money has been (hopefully) repaid. We'll all continue to send good thoughts your way and hope this situation is completely resolved for you! ((((hugs))))

GoldensMom - so sorry to hear about your ex and all the stress you must be under. I think you are taking too much of the blame on yourself - the seller has no reason to behave this callously.
Penny - sorry to hear about your ordeal, too. What a nightmare!
