I'm with you! I can't bring myself to buy it either. I don't care for the criss crossed texture in it. It almost looks fake. For me there is nothing like luscious soft leather. My favorite now goat hide! OMG! It's really nice! But other than that, regular cowhide is for me!

I agree with MSD Bags when I buy a leather bag I want to feel and smell the leather and durability is not that important to me either. I tried it and did not like it at all. I am back to calf skin or pebbled leather more my type of leather for a bag.

Thank you! You just verified my suspicions! I have been very leery of buying saffiano, but I see so many getting it these days, it made me wonder if I was missing something. I have always loved my soft leather bags and YES, the smell of new leather! There's nothing like it, I agree!

NOt had any GH before did run across a mooose hide purse last year omg.. soft? sooooo soft lol

Interesting, confirmed my suspicions that it didn't soften, why i have avoided it.. i like more flexible material.

It's rather stiff for me and not desirable for a handbag. However, for a wallet I am perfectly fine with it. I have the MK continental long wallet in the saffiano and I love it because of the textured 'durability'.

I do love Fendi too. I have Chameleon in pebbled leather and it's my workhorse bag. Thank you for the info. Now I really am gonna get a Fendi 2 jours in Saffiano leather. I do have a Hermes belt in Epsom leather which is similar to Saffiano. It's as good as new!!!
I have read a lot about Prada quality. Shame on them, really.

Agree with the Prada assessment- mine has "waves" in it - still looks just okay, but hey for Prada we all expect more.
