Interesting thread!

Personally I buy in the mid price range, and never full price. Thankfully my addiction is Coach who oblige me by discounting their products 3 months after they are released.

I think a lot of the posters 'recycle' their $$$$'s, they buy one item, reveal it, and then trade it in for the next one thereby enhancing the perception of what they own. Some on the other hand do have large amounts of disposable income - and some are in debt.

Personally I don't really pay too much attention to who has what - I just enjoy the reveals :D:D

With a few exceptions for bags I will never sell, I tend to get bored quickly and sell most bags after about six months. I rotate bags a lot too, so most bags never get much wear. I probably buy one bag per month, and probably also sell a bag per month.

I buy in the middle price range. I spend more on education than on anything else. Still regret not buying Chanel bag. Instead I paid for 2 classes at the Uni. Still, still wonder why I did it???? I did not need them at all.
Got a very bad teacher at one of this classes, Chanel would of been such fun bag to have ....just crying....:crybaby:
Did another mistake - sign up for the class I don't need, could of get another Chanel... oh God save me from classes....
I want Chanel bag, just never seem to justify it.
The education is the priority.
I like jewelry, equally silver and gold. My country make great designs and plenty of excellent goldsmiths.
I like scarves.
And I love, love shoes.
I have size 11, and 99% of high end designers don't produce shoes in my size. It is upsetting. But there are some who I love, like Stuart Weitzman, Tory Burch is ok. Gucci make some shoes that would fit and YSL and Dior make european 42, which does not happens often either.
So I don't even worry about designer's shoes.

I live below my means as far as my house. I have no children at home. I own my own business. I've charged a few but usually buy with my check card so it comes out of my account immediately. I've sold a few along the way in order to ease the guilt of having too many.

In other words, I am older and work my fanny off!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
:balloon:

Sure, I could do other things instead of spending it on bags ... like save for retirement or fix the tile in the shower or paint the outside of the house or fix the fence on one side of the yard. But right now I seem to be in a bag spree, so I'm going with it.

Reread my post and DH says I need to clarify. :hs:
Instead of saying we live below our means, it is more accurate to say we don't live above our means. We are not the type to have a house payment so expensive that we can't enjoy life along the way.

He's such a sweetie. He likes me to be happy and wants me to be happy. He even goes handbag shopping with me and honestly has good taste in bags.

Having nice bags keeps the inspiration going for me to work harder and harder. Being self-employed is a scary thing. There is no one prodding you along. It's all up to you. Rewarding yourself every so often with a bag is like getting a bonus.

Feel free to visit my albums. Mine are current. I feel I have a modest. nice collection. :presents

I definitely put money aside for the fun things in life! Different bags being one of the things I love! I just make sure I budget, then treat myself when the time is right. I try not to buy on impulse, and get styles that really don't go out of style.

I'm 24 and newly graduated from uni. I give private lessons to high school students. Their parents pay well and I live with my parents which means I don't have to pay bills or groceries. I can't afford Chanel or Dior bags but I'm happy with my MJ's, MK's and RMs :) That way I can take my family out to a nice dinner or a fancy brunch once a month :)
