Does anybody charge on credit then pay it from their debit account right away? I'm 19 next month and am going to be applying for a credit card soon once I'm working full time. I'd really like to build up good credit especially while I'm young so I was thinking whenever I make purchases I put it on my credit then use my bank app to pay it off right away (that way I am more disciplined and am having the money taken out of my debit right away.. I don't like the idea of not paying it off for a month then being shocked at the end of the month when I see the money leaving my debit card all at once if that makes sense)
I would build my credit score with smaller, necessary purchases like gas and groceries... You will likely have a small credit limit for your first card so a large handbag purchase might not be feasible...

I'd say save too!

I think it is a great idea and command you for thinking about credit score and not living off credits at your age.

The only advice I would add is not to collect too many bags at this age. Your taste would change, so will your financial power. So what you like now may just become clutter later. Pace yourself and save more for the future 😊

I afford my bags by 1) mostly buying bags that are on sale/discounted with coupons 2) saving up little by little for a wide span of time until I think I can comfortably afford a regular-priced high-end bag without buyer's remorse/guilt. And I pay (mostly) everything with credit cards, which I then pay in full when due. Easy process for me. No matter how much I want a bag, if I have to think about it for too long, that means it's not the time for me to get it.

The only time I use my credit card to buy handbag is when I'm shopping online. Normally I just use my ATM card or cash when doing some shopping coz if I can't afford to pay it I wont dare to get it. Piece of advice don't use your credit card to buy things you want because life is very unpredictable today you may a job & tmr is another story.

P.S.
I also set up a fund for my handbags obsession so I don't to use my savings.

That's a good point. I meant I'd only but it on credit if I have the funds available in my debit card and then I'd just pay it off using my bank app that way the money is leaving my account right away and not sitting there until the end of the month

I work as a nurse. But I really think about my bags for a long time so I have no regrets. I had wanted a LV speedy for the longest time- ever since seeing Jessica Simpson on Newlyweds with her "pet Louie." 8 years after I saw that episode, I got my LV speedy. I had just paid off all of my college loans and then picked up a few extra shifts in the ER. Even though it was exhausting to pick up extra shifts, it was worth it. Then I thought about and saved for a Chanel WOC for a year. I think my next bag will be a small Chanel boy bag or another Chanel WOC and will probably save enough by January-March time frame depending on bag and any price increases. My DH has a good career and this allows me to feel comfortable with spending some of salary towards this.

Hahaa, I'm still young (20yrs) and live with my parents. Recently graduated from high school and right now doing two (not so well paid) jobs because I didn't get a place to study in university. Gotta study a lot more and get in next year.

But yeah, cause I still live home, I don't really have to pay rent or anything and even though my jobs doesn't pay me that well, all the money I get I can use it as I wish. :D Well not quite, I'm trying to save up because I'm planing to move out soon, hah. But that would also mean that money would be tight, so I'm in a no hurry.

But basically I would say, hard work. ;) And that is my plan, gonna study and get a well paid job. I wanna be independent and my consciense would not let some guy buy me loads of expensive stuff. And if someone does, I see like I would be in debt to that person and would want to buy something for him in exchange.

I have accumulated almost $1000 worth of rewards/points and I have been looking to redeem them on a nice designer bag. Of course, if needed, a extra few hundreds out of pocket could be added to fund it. I'm still waiting for a good sale.. maybe I can hold off a little longer.

I'm a house wife, and even though my husband makes 6 figures, he thinks a purse is not a good way to spend money. 5 star hotel and $400 meals are more his style, makes sense right?
But lately he's been letting me buy more expensive things.

I still go to university (graduating with a MA in January, wohoo) and live in Germany - students here are allowed to work 20h/week maximum. I am glad I found a very well-paid job, my monthly fixes (rent, food, health insurance, medical bills, other insurances, university fees) are covered by my parents. I always have a maximum for shopping (beauty and fashion) in mind and try to stick to it. Sometimes it works ;-)
But I never use my dispo or need my boyfriend or parents to pay for my "luxury purchases". In fact, I've never ever used my dispo and I only want to go into debts for buying real estates (quite expensive in my area).
If I need extra money, I sell stuff on Ebay/Vestiaire Collective or try to find discount codes online.

I only own 3 premier designer handbags- one my then bf bought me for christmas (now he is a hubby), one I bought myself at a ridiculous sale and the other I got at a consignment store for a steal. I need an upgrade soon, so will be asking my hubby to buy me one.
