Almost had to call out the cavalry but my NYC dip dyes have finally arrived and I'm very happy with the new looks. I apologize..no before shots. I wasn't reaching for any of these scarves in their previous lives but I'm pretty sure they will see the light of day now!

Going clockwise: Carre Kantha (was white/brown/orange, dyed blue), Les Chevaux Se Rendent au Depart (gavroche; was yellow/gold and dyed blue), In the Pocket (was pale celadon, dyed blue), and Cirque Molier (was white/pale blue, dyed hot pink).

Thank you so much! The event was great fun and I am indeed thrilled as well as emboldened. I think I might try dyeing one myself!! :panic:Ok, I'll probably start with a lower value silk brand....

Don't be shy! It's a roll of the dice but I thought of it as a chance to modernize cws that struck me as stale or renew ones I never wore.

Thanks so much, jay jay. Upon closer inspection, I think dyeing made Carre Kantha more complex yet the original CW seemed very simple. I love it, too! It's magic!

nice dye color choices JRTGal! If you have time, would you please post a picture of your carre kantha, fully opened? I am intrigued....

Hi Essiedub! Your wish is my command. I even rinsed and ironed it for you! The detail shot is a better representation of the denim blue dye color. Also, while none of my scarves came back with blobs of excess dye, there is some faint mottling in some areas. Doesn't bother me! :amuse:

While at the NYC Dip Dye event, I purchased one of the display scarves I fell for and wanted to share it. I noticed at the time that the display scarves had the sewn in dip dye hem tags (shown in the detail shot) but the scarves I left to be dyed were not returned with these tags (and I didn't expect them to). This carre is labeled 'aqua' which was not offered in NYC, darn, and I assume the original cw was white with black writing. Again, the detail pic is a better color representation. Happy weekend, everyone!

JRTgal,:love::love:!!! Love this so much, so gorgeous, what a lucky find!

I'm very tempted to dye one myself, too! Mine's a 70cm double mousseline, in such a pale, barely there blue. Would not feel crushed if results are not as hoped. Plus there's always the opportunity dye again, and hope for better results the second time!

Thank you JRTGal! This is really beautiful. The colors are still vibrant..yet muted and the contrast hem didnt get too washed out. What a success! Thanks for posting the picture. And I really like the Naissance you bought. Maybe youd like to post a modeling shot?:flowers:

I sure hope Hermesmatic comes to the west ...somewhere I read LA or Las Vegas.
