I have gone back and forth on this but in the end got a last minute reward seat from London and am on my way to Paris now.

First sale since 2013. I prefer day two but my schedule is free today and I can't resist taking a peek...
Will let you all know how it goes!

In the sale now. Hermès threw us a curve ball, it’s belts this time instead of jewellery (usually it’s jewellery in January and belts in summer). I managed to get a blue buckle which was on my bucket list so am pleased. Crowd is quite a bit smaller than last two sales and much better behaved. Good luck everybody!

Really?! That’s some good news! Tell us how it is going throughout the day.
Are Asian resellers still there?

Thanks for the report. I’m in Paris now but had decided to give it a miss because I haven’t found the hassle worth it the past several years. Might go tomorrow if crowds are generally smaller this year.

Leaving the sale now and there is NO QUEUE to get in at 11.15 on first day. This is unheard of. Have never seen the sale so quiet on first day.

I just left the sale. I haven’t been to a Paris sale before, but this was very well organized, especially compared to what I’ve heard about the previous sales there. That said, I was disappointed. I was expecting more stock. As @DavidFincher said earlier, there’s no jewelry, but there are belts instead. That queue takes a while because there is one SA per person. There was hardly a line for 90s, probably because the selection is dismal IMO. I wasn’t impressed with the stock of shoes either, and only 2 designs of mousselines. I hope this helps people who are trying to decide whether to go.

My suspicion was that the protests might have put doubt in a lot of the bus groups that turn up from afar.

A few years ago, maybe 2008/9, there was a Metro strike and so few people turned up that there was a second mark down on the last (third) day. Certain lines still worked and I was fortunate enough not to be effected.

I am about 15 min away and if it's true that I can walk in at 1230 that would be similar to my previous experience, pre 2013, on the second day of the sale.

Will let you know.
