Hello Doc,
I have just taken possession of a 31 trim in orange gulliver. There are a few small marks that don't bother me much, but I need some advice before I do further cleaning and moisturizing.
I started with lexol wipes. In the first pic you can see the line (on the back of the bag), which got a bit darker after wiping. When I got to the front, where there is a similar line scratch, I avoided the area entirely. The circular stain on the hardware strap lightened quite a bit with lexol wiping.
So my question is: should I go ahead with the Blackrock / Obenaufs treatments you outlined, or will the two scratch marks darken? They seem to be scratches made in the leather, rather than stains put onto the leather. As I said, I'm not bothered by them now, but definitely don't want to do anything to worsen. Also need to know if regular maintenance will be OK.
Thanks in advance for your expertise!

I would not use blackrock or obenauf on this leather type at all ( I only have recommended those for Vache Natural and Box Calf)
Conditioners, neutral polishes and some cleansers will / may / usually / can / darken any area where you have missing top skin or missing finish or a deep scratch which penetrates the leather's surface.
Always test a small area first with your products and wait to see if you like the result after a few hours before treating large visible areas.
Massaging some color touch up or color restorer on to areas which have missing finish can help these problems... but care must be taken to be conservative in application and have a matching color so as to avoid making a mess of things. Luxury Again is launching their color touch up kits which could help. Then you can go forward with normal conditioning and polishing. I like to recommend a Luxury Again DIY Handbag Spa Kit because its easy to use and works on all finished leathers and exotic skins .
I hope this helps?
All the best,doc
