Hi doc wondering if you can be of any assistance with cleaning a new to me barenia watch strap, it looks like it has water or possibly perfume oil stains. Wondering if theres anything I can do to clean it before opting to replace the strap. TIA

Lexol PH wipes and cool clean water should do the trick.

hi Doc,

1. do you have experience with fuchsia colour re-touch, perhaps you had found the perfect match? I bought adorable Vision II agenda which is in fuchsia chevre with an indent on the leather which looks darker than the rest. I do not mind it too much (when I make my own marks it just make s a bit of a character on the piece, not that I make them on purpose, but I am OK with it), however this one I would just like to match as good as possible to the original colour and live in peace with it.

here are photos. What would be the proper procedure to paint a narrow indent like this? First use colour remover ? I so, what exactly would you use?

2. if I decide to get a vert anis chevre piece which has rubbed off colour on corners, which colour would you recommend?

TIA, Vesna

Hello,
for Fuschia Tarrao makes a color similar but not exact. For Vert Anis Tarrago in Spinach is close but not a match. IMO you will need to custom blend a color from several colors. I do not have a formula fpr you. And no I wouldn't use color remover in this case. Good luck.

thanks a lot Doc, I will try to mix...I will get fuschia colour first and then see what I miss to make better shade - white of yellow.. or pink... thanks again, cheers, V

Hi doc, it was pouring the other day and my matte gator cdc got drenched in rain! I sponged it dry with paper towels once I got indoors and a few hours later, I spot 2 water marks! It looks like a slightly darker wet patch (dry to the touch now) on my light colored gator now. Any remedy to rid this mark please? Thanks much!

Let it be for another day and see perhaps it won't be too noticable..Most likely water marks will stay to some degree ..but first see if it's completely dried,so wait a few days. I wish I had better news.

Thanks doc! It's been 3 days now but it's still as noticeable. Guess that's it for my dear gator... :(

Hi Doc, Happy New Year !
What do you suggest for a new Kelly in vache liegee. It is a sellier in brique with crisp white stitching. Brand new, sitting in the box here for 5 years.
Have decided I should get some use out of it ! Would like to protect it from the elements but not change color.
thank you !

Hapy New Year to you too! :smile1:
Vache Liegee is very hardy and lovely. The most care needs to be in protecting the corners from getting rubs and this is mostly a having a care when carrying the bag sort of thing.
You can simply use some Tarrago Neutral polish to help protect your bag. Always check a small hidden area first (I like to use the back of a strap )and wait 24hrs to make sure the results are what you like before doing large visable areas. Good luck:smile1:

Doc, thank you for reply. Previously you had recommended meltonian all purpose cleaner and conditioner for my new pigskin kelly. Is that safe for vache liegee ? I've been carrying Kelly bags for almost 30 years so am familiar
(unfortunately) with the corner issues. Most of the others are box , no idea what VL will do in rain or snow.
Thank you again
