I was in Japan for a week during July and visited both Ginza store and the Tokyu store in Shibuya. Did not have any prior purchase from any of the Japanese stores, but I do know some Japanese to break the ice and the language barrier. So I was one of the few lucky ones when I walked into the Tokyu store. I did not go straight for the leather goods, but wanted to check out their silk scarves. I know that many times there are Japan-only special items from Hermes in stores there. I ended up getting a weirdly long but thin twirly (want use that as a strap for the plum that I was carrying at the time, don’t know what it is officially named) and then a beautiful 90 scarf that has a kimono on it - so Japanese and I loved it! After decided on those two, I figured why not try and ask about Kelly or Constance (sorry, not really a Birkin girl). The SA smiled and told me there was no Kelly in store but there is a Constance that is available to show me. She did not take me to any private room, but simply went into their storage and took out an orange box. Out came a white C24 with PHW, and I fell in love with the soft evercolor leather. Was a little hesitant at first because I worried about color transfer (that pure white looks so precious and delicate), but then the soft leather and famine look of this particular Constance drew me in. So I decided to get it.

Then, after my luck with the Tokyu store, I was focusing on other stuff that I wanted to do in Tokyo. But when I was in Ginza area one morning, I figured I’d try my luck again at the Ginza store. As everyone knows, Ginza store has this “line-up for luck” rule, and I lined up just 15 mins before the store opened at 11. I was given the 12 tag and figure I probably won’t have any chance anyway. Of course only the first person got any offer of any BKC (rouge ostrich B25, I think), which was the only bag that came in that day. But they also have a B25 in green on display - a non-for-sale item.

I would say next time I am in Tokyo I would still go back to the Tokyu store, hoping that lightning will strike twice lol!

Hello all! Just walked in to Haneda Airports Hermes boutique and saw a C24 Beton with palladium hardware being displayed. Purchased the bag! This was after going to Ginza and Shinjuku’s Takashimaya and being told there were no B, K or C.
woooow you are so lucky. C24 always be my dream bag. may I know the price of C24 in Tokyo? thanks

Just a quick report on Ginza - stopped by the store yesterday at around 6:30pm and went straight up to level 4. Asked about an agenda that I had my eye on (sadly, none in stock) and then asked about Kelly 25 in black and pink. She came back to report that there was nothing in either colour, and there were only browns, greys - at which point I interjected with ‘étain? Our SA asked us to take a seat and returned with a box but it was for a Birkin 25, PHW. It was very tempting, I’m after a Kelly so we declined.

Stopped past again today in the off chance and they did have the agenda I was looking for but still no K’s. Did see a beautiful K25 rose shocking chèvre at a resale store in the area, but the condition, although almost new, didn’t quite warrant the price they were asking.

Hi, I am in Tokyo and to share - Hermes Marunouchi - lovely, friendly staff, lots of slg’s and scarves, no bags. Was offered a pale pale grey clutch (cannot remember the name, non quota bag).
Hermes Ginza completely different, staff on the ground floor were busy but up in watches they had little interest in customers.
Up to homewares and when I found staff she had little knowledge and honestly looked surprised when I asked about a piece (which she had to check as she didn’t know the price or any other details.
Up to leather goods and it was no, no, no which I heard repeated to a few customers.
Bought an accessory which was always sold out in HK. B25 Black ghw on display only. A couple of very large picotins in gold and a dark blue. No Aline, K/B/C - no small bags.
When I was leaving I walked down the side of the store to try the men’s rtw store for my husband - there was a delivery truck loading several black shopping bags covering Hermes orange shopping bags which held large Hermes boxes. I guess this was where all the bags went! I have another day so will try tomorrow, fingers crossed.

I'm curious as to what this is - mind sharing?

From what I've read in the forums (and also seen in person), if you queue at the Ginza shop before it opens, the first few people in line will get BKC offers if there is stock. But usually these are for bigger bags, not small ones.

Best of luck with the rest of your trip in Japan!

Today is the last weekend before a new consumption tax (sales tax) kicks in so Im sure Hermes is stocked to the hilt but SAs will surely be saving their good stuff for their loyal customers. Not a good time to be in Japan this weekend because the locals will be out spending on big ticket items to beat the increase in tax

Oh I didn’t realise this! Coupled with the Rugby World Cup it was a little crazy busy, and the Emperor stopped by our hotel, The Tokyo Station, twice so there were some extra security checks also. I made do with some Manolo and Chanel shoes so no complaints.i did see lots of resale store in Ginza - if anyone is planning a trip they are ok value for resale, the same crazy prices for new Hermes.

Just a quick update in case anyone is travelling through Narita airport - the drawers are empty! They had a Bleu 27 bolide epsom, lots of Jige purses, a couple of nice belts. For such a small store the stock was diverse with a small rtw and homeware section - actually I should say shelves not sections! Lots of scarves, little in terms of jewellery or watches. Good luck!
