I used to live in Bern and made my first H purchase there.
The SAs could not have been kinder to me and my young daughter. They gave her a little coloring book and for me they added the cards on tying scarves. I was oblivious to the whole concept of lists and bag offerings but they made sure to add my name to the data base...and even linked it to my father I think. I have not been back to that location, but I would not hesitate to stop in if you're near Bern.

I stopped in the Lausanne store on Friday since I had some time before picking up my daughter. I asked about a K, but the SA seemed to indicate it unlikely.
I bought a beautiful horn pendant :heart:and fell in love with the sample fragrance she gave me.....I just need to decide if I go back to Lausanne for the perfume or check in with Geneva to see if they are any more optimistic about a K....I guess I can just get used to checking stores as I come across them.:smile1:

The stores are polite and they are used to cater to international customers. They speak from Russian to Chinese. That is for the first floor. The third floor is the hardest one (leather goods). My SM left the store but they were super helpful. They are trying to locate a discontinued colour Birkin. They took the info on possible colours and HW. This would have never happened 2 years ago when it was impossible to approach them.
If you have a B of K, bring them to the store. It should help. Also having a suisse address seemed to be important when I filled my form, although I am a regular customer.
I would try Geneva where they have a stock. Weekday earlier in the day may be best and not near their lunch break. :)

He's going to Geneva. But DH said he's willing to travel to other H stores around there to help me try to score a B. Any ideas which H stores are easier in Switzerland? They only sell it to local people? Thanks

Geneva has a good stock. I have heard Zurich is also not bad esp to non-locals. But I cannot confirm it. Also when he goes to the store if they don't want to sell him a bag, he can say he wanted to come here vs Paris but it seems he will need to have to go to Paris. That may sound pushy but he has nothing to loose. I do recommend Paris, it is a super quick train ride.

Last option is maybe to see if they will help you if you he says he wants to buy you a B or K and a pair of boots that will go with the bag. Hence, showing he is not just interested in just a bag.

You do have your name stored in the suisse hermes store system? If you bought from several shops they can pull your info and it helps with a bag.

Thank you for mentioning that Sarah_sarah!
I bought from Bern years ago when I lived there, but I think perhaps my name was written wrong because they did not seem to find me....anyway I think the SA in Lausanne put my info in with my latest Swiss address.

It feels a little disloyal to go from store to store asking about a bag, but I guess with H that is how it's done.:shrugs:

Hey Guys!
I live in the States and I'm gonna spend August in Swizterland. I know there are more than 5 Hermes boutiques there (Zurich,Geneve, Basel, Laussane). I want to know if anyone of you guys were lucky to find any Birkins/Kellys/KP/KC ?
I used to the States are they easier there do you think I'll be lucky to find anything there?

It's a 3 hr train ride to Paris from Geneva....and there are a lot of other French cities not too far away.
I think you'd be better off on both cost and availability.
Good luck and enjoy Switzerland - but you're probably better off shopping in FR, DE, or IT.

Sadly, I must agree.
I love my Geneva store after it took them ages to warm up to me.
Prices are same as USA or similar and it is rather tricky. You can try Lyon and Paris for sure. Also, always go and try, one never knows.
