Dear Hermes lovers in Switzerland, does anyone happen to know the availability of the Birkin 25 in togo leather in Zurich or Basel?

Even if they have it, I don't think they will offer it to walk ins. I was there last December, and went to several stores in Switzerland, they told me that they don't offer b/k to walk ins, you have to put your name down, and they will notify you when it's available, but you have to be local.

But who knows, maybe you will be lucky.

Thanks Peggyyo1021 my local boutique is in Zurich. I've purchased bracelets and shoes from this branch and haven't asked about a Birkin before - but I guess they will also tell me about their waiting list. I also went to the Basel store last year and purchased a bracelet and the sales assistant told me they no longer do waiting lists (I enquired about a Constance)...

Dear: then I think you have a pretty good shot. I thought you are tourists, just like me. I like the Basel store, the sa is friendly, and less traffic comparied to Zurich. I have a friend who lives in Switzerland, and she told me that as long as you are willing to buy other products (ex. RTW, watch), the SA will offer b/k of your choice when it comes to store.

I know they all said they don't do waiting list, but I ask about the SA in Geneva, she said that if you want a B/K, you have to put your name down, and they will let you know when it comes to the store(wonder if that's called the waiting list) I asked if I could put my name down, she said that if the bag comes in, you have to be there within 24hrs to pick it up(which is impossible for me, as I reside in Asia).

I also find the Basel staff to be friendlier and helpful :) It's funny how one store says one thing and the other says another about waiting lists - would be nice if they would get their stories straight ;) Will update this thread if I end up getting one!

Bs are possible for walk ins at least in my experience from Bern and Lucerne but limited choice of colours. The basel staff were very friendly and was prepared to offer whatever stock they had. They didn't seem to be hiding stock in the back.

The waiting list is no longer in Switzerland. For better of for worse now it is like other countries. I have not seen one walk-in unless it was a bag that regulars had no interest in. That said, it helps if you show you love the brand and are not there to score a B or K. The B or K 25 are harder to get and will be reserved but you still can place your name. Now there is an unofficial waiting list. After that it depends on different factors where your name will be on the list. As to why different cities vary is because in Geneva and Zurich you have a lot of people competing for SO's compared to other stores that don't do SO's and are nicer to the walk-ins. Good luck and you never know where you will get lucky. Always try. Many people have been happier with Lyon. I always say try Lyon is are in Geneva.
If you are a regular in Zurich or have shopped there before and have a Swiss address then you will be considered a local.

Hi there, I am from Hong Kong and will be visiting Zurich next week. Do you know if the sales associates sell to tourists or would I have a better chance if I took a local friend with me? Any tips? I'd ideally like to buy a Kelly this trip! Thank you.

I tried my luck in Zurich over the weekend and was told upfront that they only sell to local clients. If this helps anybody. I was prepared to purchase other items as well but unfortunately, was disappointed. If anyone has a contact in Zurich I would appreciate an intro! Thank you.
