The design is quite interesting since you could emphasize on the bright corner or the more muted one.

And Gavroche Cheval à la couverture, very elegant IMO

All wonderful! Congrats! I am loving this more muted and understated CW of Foret... Gorgeous!

Argh sorry about the sideways photo Israeli_Flava! Here’s another pic of CW 5 Animapolis for those still deciding View attachment 4281433
What a bright and fabulous CW!

I don’t think it’s superfluous, but I saw several CWs of this butterfly scarf today and I’m sorry to say that the printing looks cheap. There is no texture or depth, just surface blobs of color. I was shocked and very disappointed. I would say don’t buy it until you can see it IRL.

Totally agree with this assessment. Flat as a pancake and put me in mind of a generic department store scarf.

I had a similar feeling about the 140 Sieste, which seemed somehow less detailed than the original issue to me-- but honestly, that could be just my dislike of the shininess of the recent-issue 140 silks. Maybe the detail is there and I'm distracted by the sheen, but for whatever reason, that, too, fell flat for me.

I'm really, really hoping to be pleasantly surprised by Pivoines and Equateur, which hadn't yet come in.

Even if it lacks detail compared to the 90 I am still ecstatic to finally be getting a Sieste! As I don't have a 90 I will be none the wiser anyway! [emoji38][emoji4]

I am sure you will wear it lots when you get it - the H blues are amazing and there are many of us here who are big fans of blue. I only bought my first scarf in 2016 and, well, as is often quoted on here, it was a very slippery slope indeed! The start of a new season is so exciting. I told myself when I bought my first that it was a special treat that I wouldn't repeat. Ehm............ that didn't work out well! Welcome to the club!!! [emoji847]
I also started in 2016. It started with vintage scarves. Then I fell in love with Parures de Samurai and bought my first new scarf from the boutique as a special treat. It was supposed to be an occasional treat. Then it became several a season... I had a meltdown recently about the thousands of dollars I’ve spent on new H scarves these past two years. But, hey, I love them. I wear them everyday. I’m not putting myself into debt. They bring me great happiness. I LOVE this thread every time the new seasons roll around. It’s just so exciting to see the new designs and hear what fellow scarfies like and don’t like. Can’t wait to see more mod shots!

I already have this (de la mer from 2014):

Is this superfluous (colors are rather similar)?

I pondered the color similarity between "From the sea to the sky" (De la mer au ciel) scarf and the butterfly scarf. To me, the similarity suggested a linkage between the two so that the butterfly scarf could be named "From the sky to the earth" (I don't know what its precise name is). The small picture I saw of the butterfly scarf suggests to me the butterfly is high in the sky looking down at the ground (earth).

It's possible that two scarves express the linkages between sea, sky and earth. (A reason to buy both!).

I couldn't figure out from the small pix of the butterfly scarf what the brown and green of the earth represented. Was it trees? At first it looked like a cliff, then a fence. I clearly need a larger version of this scarf to study.

I am glad @HoneyLocks that you pointed out the color similarity.

Welcome @LuphBunni.
The scarves do hold their value to some degree so when you tire of a design (I think that happens eventually) you can send them off to a reseller. I have always been interested in the outlook for various collectibles, just as a curiosity. Recently was fascinated to learn that the resale market is pretty much booming. (Zooming, too).

Here’s my feeble attempts at basic scarf tying (wanted to try the more sophisticated knots but got side lined when the kitties decided to be nosy - worried about the younger one’s claws!) It was rainy and grey all day so there wasn’t much light

You are versatile and talented in scarf-tying. Made me appreciate the animalopis much more. Do you think it's possible to tie it so that the big monster in the upper corner can be displayed? I like that big guy.

Oooo that is lovely! I may need this one...:amuse:I'm sorry but what colourway is this?
Thank you! This is colorway 8

I bought this exact scarf in this colorway today at the Palm Beach boutique (also got the one with the great fuchsia #11). Love both!!

The SAs and I were on the "puppy hunt" and with just a quick look I think you may have found all the ones we did. Great fun, don't you think?

Must say the various ways you tied your periwinkle one is fabulous and you are my "gold standard"! Yes, indeed, I will practice, practice, practice until I achieve even a smidgen of your "art of the scarf tie" so to speak. Truly love that photo with the artist's dog in the tied corner.
Thank you for this incredible boost of confidence! :hbeat: I'm sure you'll rock your scarf!

This is a glorious CW! Much prettier than on paper. I love it’s subtle beauty and that gorgeous sky blue hem! Great modeling pics! Thank you!

Love! Thanks for sharing every possible look! Looks fabulous on you.

Good job!

If I could, I'd have pressed Like many times! Fabulous photos! ;)

You have awesome tying! I got the same one and you did stuff I didn’t even think of. Fabulous!

Many thanks to you all for the "likes" and lovely messages:love:... makes me want to actually wear my scarves vs admiring them in their boxes lol :giggle:

Thanks for these details, @momasaurus. I think Hermes artists have been on a pointillism kick for a while. They learned their lesson well!
Recall the Hermes scarf of 2-3 years ago, Dans un jardin anglais by Alice Shirley:

It's a very impressionistic technique. For comparison, here's a picture I grabbed from a web article on the Pioneers of Pointillism:
