Hi Ladies!
I'm new in this thread and I need your advice/opinion on general SPA for my Birkin 35.

Here is my story ( I told more details on other thread about shipping via DHL). I bought my Birkin 35 from personal shopper( they are very popular in Europe). I used wire transfer as payment. The bag was sent via Deutch Post with minimal insurance ( I believe it's €500 euro only).

Anyway , I received the package with the bag ( after waiting for 2,5 months in totally damaged shape), I am attaching some photos. Needless to say my reaction and my mood etc... right now it's 4 o'clock of the morning ( I'm in the US) and I cannot sleep so I'm asking for your advice/opinion.

There is an H store near me ( in Atlanta), it is my first experience with H Spa, can I take my B over there for spa ? And is there any way to get a new dustbag ( I read in previous comments that they don't provide them anymore)? The dustbag got stains ...
The bag itself is in good shape except for being soaking wet, I mean it's not just wet, it's WET , even inside pockets are wet...there is also this smell, like it was staying in water for awileand the zipper on the inside pocket does not run smooth, will it be expensive to change it or maybe they can fix it without changing ( though I have read on here that they don't fix inside of bags)... also on photos as you can see there is some tarnishing on the hardware , how much will it cost to change /fix it? I do apologize for so many questions ... I'm just killed , I thought I'm going to die when I received the package and aw what happened...

Ummmmm you might want to get it authenticated first.... bababebi is excellent and super fast. Makes sure to contact her.... good luck.... (ps : changing hardware doesn't cost a thing so don't worry).

And inside pocket doesn't run smooth.... mmmmm like I said you might want to get it authenticated.... I have not seen a wet wet bag so I can't opine but maybe it's because it's been wet? Anyway, best of luck and pls come back and update...

Thank You for your advice and yes I already contacted Bababebi and she confirmed that this is 100% authentic Handbag in Alezan color! May I please ask you why do you think that changing hardware is free?! I have read on this thread that it can be around $200 to change it! Is it not correct?

Oh phew. I'm so relieved for you.

I know the changing hardware is free because I have changed a couple bags of mine for free. Hope this helps!

Yes I was worried to death myself but after Bababebi confirmed it's all good, I got relieved also )
But again as I said, the bag was soaking wet , so the zipper got some rust which I hope I can clean somehow!
If you don't mind me asking , where was your hardware changed and how long ago?

I am in the states. And the latest one was earlier this year, in April (Edit: I meant in 2016 lol). Why don't you try for yourself? Worse comes to worse if they charge you just don't do it. You won't know for sure until you try for yourself and see what happens. :)

so sorry this happened to you
i can only imagine how disappointed you are
still, even without spa, once it is dry and if you stuff it i'm sure it will look great, and hermes spa will make it perfect again

OK....couple questions here.

Did bababebi authenticate the bag you received or the photos from which you purchased? If the latter, is this the identical bag you ordered?

Assuming this is in fact the bag authenticated by bababebi, why did your seller send it in what appears to be a bag, not a box, with minimal insurance? The bag being wet seems to indicate damage in transit. Did you ask your seller about this? Even with minimal insurance you can make a claim against Deutsche Post for somehow getting the bag in water. Even 500 euro will cover a lot of spa treatment.

I would not panic as you say the major issues seem to be 1) wetness 2) hardware 3) odor. The bag should dry out just fine (Clemence and Togo can be soaked through) and once it is dry you'll know if the odor remains. Then H spa can help you with the hardware which may only need polishing. If the interior is dirty, unfortunately you will probably have to clean that yourself, which isn't too hard as long as there is no mold. (If there is mold you should return the bag.)

As this is not a new bag, the dustbag won't be new either and is in fact the old style (orange) - you can ask for a new dustbag at spa and you may or may not get one - nevertheless you can buy them separately at resale. Did your seller tell you the dustbag was in better condition?

Really all this can be fixed but first you need your seller (the personal shopper) to give you some answers as to how the bag got that way. I'm assuming the shopper sourced it from the bag's owner - one of them is responsible for its condition - they need to answer as to why it's wet and handle the claim against the shipper if it's the shipper's issue.

To come back to the thread topic more specifically, all of the above from H spa should certainly not cost more than your insurance, and probably much less <3

Hope that helps :flowers:

This Birkin was authenticated by me based on the pictures of the actual bag received by this buyer.

I would send this bag back to your personal shopper for a refund. The bottom of the bag is completely deformed, and that won't be fixed by spa. Not to mention the bag has been soaked through. Imagine what it will smell like come summer in the Deep South. The hardware is, honestly, the least of your worries. Good luck, I hope you can get this resolved or repaired to your satisfaction.

Unfortunately, seller will not refund me any money because it's shipping company fault ... she will try to get the minimal 500 euro insurance though, which as you said, most probably will cover the SPA.
As for bag not being new -i bought it as pre-owned bag but it didn't have any signs of wear and now after getting dry I am surprised and very happy, but it looks like new again LOL! I didn't exspect it to turn out that good! The smell is almost gone also! I will attach the picture so maybe somebody that will get in the same situation, will not freaking out like me and will not get a heart attack like I almost did in the minute I received it.

Thank You from the bottom of my heart for helping me!!!
I'm glad that you said it in this thread since some people ( not professional authenticators) sent me PM's claiming the bag is 100% fake which was a cherry on top of my frustration!

P.S. I highly recommend BaBabebi for Hermes Authetication Services!
She is extremely fast and very helpful!!!
Thank you!

Totally off the current topic but just received my K35 back from the BH store spa and the price was $400 USD. There were a few faint scuff marks at two of the edges but everything else was perfect on it. My K35 is probably four years old maximum and I am OCD about babying her.

Just in case anyone is considering taking your H bag to get a spa treatment, I think that $400, what I was charged is the current rate. If anyone is good with applying products I recommend Docride's kits sold on ebay.

Ouch! I guess the days of them quoting a lot and charging less are over....
