Anyone has datapoints on Special Order? I’ve only gotten it once and really want to go through the experience again..:panic:

going to share since you have provided quite a bit of info...

1. there is a cumulative spend required (if you are an old time customer should be ok), the prespend should work similar to normal bags; for eg. 16k then get the SO
2. customer needs to be at least 1.5 years with H
3. each SA have 1 x SO per semester to give to one of their client

I heard that there were stern warnings to SAs not to mention pre-spend, not even acknowledge there’s such thing, and just give standard answer of asking customers to just buy what they like…. Otherwise the SAs get reported and lose their job…..

wow thanks for the insights! in truth, theres still prespend but yeah i guess they arent allowed to mention these days. My gf's SA will even ask her to pace her spending/hint not to spend alr when hit the amount.

am considering taking the plunge and getting into the hermes game.. but i wonder how "slowly" can i accumulate my spendings and whether people have seen the spending quota shift significantly during the time they were in the game? i'm not keen to spend for the sake of qualifying for a QB, so i would rather wait for the items i like to be back in stock and purchase when available... but it seems to me that even for the non-bag items, people get ghosted and may not be able to buy in the end? it's scary to enter the game, esp when you're not sure whether you'll really be getting anything out of it! i'm also thinking of pacing myself really slowly... like about $1-2K spending each month max.. but it will take me about 1 year to even reach the minimum spend required, before i can queue for a QB.

lastly, HOW DO YOU TELL IF THE SAs ARE GOOD OR NOT? i did walk in before but the SA then although friendly just straight up told me they don't do min. pre-spending so the convo ended as soon as it started. i'm really not sure how people found the good SAs and how can you tell if you vibe with them ornot? I think most of them are quite good at pretending to be nice and friendly =x

if you truly only want the QB, then dont go down the slippery slope. just buy from reseller. you can go to the store once in a while and see if there are things you like/appreciate too. I found alot of non-bag items that i like too. so spent too quickly lol. thats another prob ive.

A good SA is one that you have good chemistry with and is responsive to you. and yeah you cant ask em outright abt pre-spending without building a relationship.

And yes its unsettling feeling to spend so much and not sure when you actually get a QB esp when inventory is low these days. If you dont think you can handle it, then dont go down this slippery slope. im also still waiting for my first QB. Been shopping at van cleef to distract myself from the QB wait at hermes. haha

Thanks loda! I’ve only gotten once in 10 years. Generally i’ve maxed out my QBs each year except for last year which I had a one year hiatus as hubby was too busy. one SA have only one SO per semester means it’s really limited...

cumulative spend wise I don’t think it’s an issue, the question is how to rank up amongst my SA’s clients be the 1 client she allocate.. :crybaby:

I can get an alligator BK also because hubby is eyeing a big purchase... but I’m not into that.. hinted at an ombré lizard but was told that was a rarity..

Is lindy 26 a hard to get bag ?
This is hard to say now since all leathers seem low in stock.

I bought my lindy26 fairly easy 2yrs ago. It’s probably luck as it was the start of covid. Orchard road was like ghost town and no tourists. I walk into Taka store when I saw a black lindy on display. SA showed me 2 other colours to choose.

fast forward, many ppl are covid-splurging as traveling is out, hence luxury sector is doing extremely well.

I also believe some Chanel customers hv switched to H with the ever increasing price hikes along w Chanel ever shrinking bag sizes.

plus tourists are back with a vengeance!!!! :wtf::graucho:

i wonder what the tourists are getting our stock level is alr so Low - not enough for Singaporeans to buy things that we like .

new Hermes clients and tourists are just buying up everything.
Last week when i was in store i think mostly were locals. I sent my SA what i can find online on Paris website.. all sold out in SG or didn’t even get any allocation.

On hingsight, Chanel bag prices are probably justifiable given there’s no pre-spending required and you can definitely get the bags easier. Their caviar range is super durable. So I think only start the Hermes journey if you truly love it for more than just the bags itself

No. I have been asking for a few Chanel bags each season since last Sep. But always no stock. Saying this as a brand new local customer. I had always shopped overseas buying randomly.

I heard from other customers that I would be able to get the bags if I have other spendings.

yup, same nowadays for Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Dior. Went Dior many times but nothing to buy, everything reserve for regulars.. Louis Vuitton I spent 5k one day buying RTW but SA didn’t bat an eyelid to stay in touch. LOL times have changed for shopping.. it’s just demand / supply and the biggest spenders always win.

Wow really? I heard Chanel/dior/Lv was quite easy to get overseas duty free though while Hermes is just tough globally no matter where you go. Time for us to travel! Can’t wait for my korea trip!

It will be at least 2-3 years minimum before supply go back to normal.. but many it may never be back to pre-COVID days. I’ve gotten quite lucky at Paris, gotten 3B 1K without pre-purchase in the last 10 years. Don’t even dare to have any hope nowadays. :P

Actually, if hearsay are accurate, Chanel is going the H way of having pre spend. To get caviar leathers esp the classic flap and 255, u need to hv prior spending.
