Hi chpwhy,

There have been complaints with regards to the sealant issue by the members. With the kind of price we pay for an H bag, I agree that this should not happen.

The explanation I received from the H store is that the demand for H bags (especially on Kelly & Birkin families) has increased tremendeously for the past few years and Paris is trying to keep up with it by increasing their production rate, i.e. more craftsman, faster turn around time, etc.

Unfortunately, all of these resulting in somehow problematic products. I think with things done at a faster pace, we can hardly expect the best outcome.

A bag is supposed to be left to dry for a certain period of time in order to ensure that the sealant is completely dried up before it is packed in a box. But with all the rush, I think it is just left to dry sparingly and off it goes into the box.

I've seen how the sealant of an H wallet got stuck with the paper wrapping. It shows that the sealant was not properly dried up when the wallet was packed. Plus, the humid weather in Singapore doesn't help.

I was told that some H wooden furniture suffered cracks on its surface when they reached Singapore.

Hi P, I understand if i had this bag for a while but i only got it late Jan(L Stamped), few days before CNY. I have bags from 06, 07, 08. Even a vintage Kelly. No problem at all so i have reason to belive the workmanship is shoddy?.

I have had this happen before, but on an older bag (I) stamped and 2nd hand. Frank rewaxed the whole bag for about $200.

But since you got this from the boutique in Jan, ask your SA nicely to waive any charges, tell them it is a defect and ask them to fix it. For a bag bought in Jan it would be reasonable for them to fix it FOC. Do it soon.

HY, I had the same problem as you but mine was a lot worse. Not sure if it was due to our weather + storage etc.

Anyway, Frank managed to fix it and it looks as good as new! Bring it to him.

It doesn't even need to be in Singapore. I bought a Bearn wallet from Madison and the edges were stuck to the paper – still happens now when I take it out from storage.

Wood cracking in Singapore weather is the result of humidity, and also means that the wood they use was not seasoned sufficiently either. Some higher-end pianos would season their wood for several years before manufacture in order to improve stability, but one would not expect this of furniture wood.

Kristinelooi, go for it! Lindy in swift is very very pretty. I got a Rouge H swift 34 Lindy and I love it so much and really really enjoy the "under the radar" advantage of this bag.

Regarding Luxury Shops, as everyone has said, they are very lovely to deal with, I also just got a bag from them and they are very accommodating, good communication and sent the bag with fedex , no tax was imposed...

Hope you get the lindy soon and do post pictures when you get her :smile1::heart:

Yup. That's why I am very very tempted to get the Lindy asap. It would be a good everyday bag - I don't wish to have anyone in the office notice what bag I use.

In Swift, I would go for a 30, more lady-like/dressy plus it's easier to handle the leather. Of course the 30 has to fit your overall aesthetic and usage.
