Dunno about rencontre 45cm date
Souvenirs was only done in one cw in 90cm , 1989 sounds about right , never done as 45cm

thank you for your reply!
do you know it for a fact? The picture above is for a gavroche. If it was faked, I cannot tell the difference (and I KNOW my HS). If it was faked, it wasn't faked in 1989, as the quality of the silk and print is superb.
I'm super confused now :( :(

Hello everyone!

Do anyone know which print and cw this twilly is? I tried to ask the tPFer who posed the pic without result. I'm terrible when it comes to identify a print from action pics :)

Thank you for your help!

Wasn't this reissued more recently than 1989? I'm probably wrong but something in the back of my head says maybe.....
Souvenirs came out 1989 - 1990 ca

The design was never changed - there were no changes to the silk. There was only one cw.

Now in those days, Hermes might keep a cw in production for decades ... Now they seem to keep them in production for about 1-2 years. But that was not the case years ago Yes, they sold this same scarf in the one cw for decades, and yes, it was re-manufactured for decades

In fear of sounding too persistent and annoying.
The gavroche was bought on therealreal.com, and as I do not know whether they employ an in-house HS authenticator, I'm a bit wary of their rock-solid knowledge of HS, to say the least.
However, I've been collecting HS since 1999 and had seen enough HS to know the difference.
I do know that Souvenirs de Paris came in one cw only and came as a part of Hermes Classiques collection for the PE-89. Whether it was ever issued as a gavroche I did not know, hence the question.
You say it was not... I believe you.
thus my question is... have you ever heard of super-fakes of older designs, never reissued? Let alone not popular and in a 45cm size?
And if it is a fake, it is a super-photo-fake (the print is impeccable, the silk is heavy, colors are bright, care tag looks real, copyright, H-P, artist's name - everything is there and doesn't raise a question). The only difference with a carre - there are fewer stars".
Heck, I won't send it back, it was cheap and even if it is a fake, I will keep it as a case in study. :D I will even buy the carre, though I never liked it much, just to compare.

I had never heard of a 45 cm souvenirs ... Learn something every day
There are no fast rules for Hermes , there have always been exceptions
Could be an edition produced in limited quantities ??? Test printing ??? Special order ???
Curious Hermes scarves pop up all the time ... Not everyone will agree on those as there is no documentation of them in ads , booklets and these do not strictly obey the rules

Re 45 cm souvenirs , is the care tag long or short ?
The scarf could have done anytime since 1989 ... It could have been done ca 2006 - year of Paris
The smaller size would require new screens and Hermes started doing digital copying around 2006 , they may have digitized their own design to make a 45 cm or it could be from the 1990s if it has a long tag

long. I'm not familiar with gavroches of the 90s and earlier. My first gavroche was Raconte-moi le cheval from 2002, so I wouldn't know :(

Long care tag , so it from the 1990s , interesting

Also helps demonstrate authenticity , Hermes will put a short tag on there if they hemmed or fixed it at the scarf spa

The gavroches started being done again ca 1990 , and never appear in booklets or ads so there are lots of mysteries there

And originally , ca 1990 , the gavroche was about 1/2 in longer than a pochette sold for men - they were similar but different products

I have not measured recent 45 cm and there are now so many many sizes eg 55 cm etc

Some even had machine gems but are authentic

The owner found the recipe for this twilly and it supposed to be Camails in cw 2 if someone else would like to know too :)

I do have this Souvenirs gavroche like yours. Mine is authentic with the folded white care tag.

hi,

I don't know whether this is the proper forum for asking my question about what to expect from genuine Hermes scarves in general, but I saw a posting about this from a while back and would like to follow up on it:

- how closely should the hem thread color match that of the scarf ? I have an orange scarf with pinkish threads (you have to look closely to notice this)
- how hard a rule is the 2.2 oz weight ? can it be 'normal' for a modern scarf to weigh more, ie. 2.5 oz?

My apologies if this is the wrong place to post ( I am not attaching any photos for this reason)
Thank you!
