Scarf nerd question here....

I finally found a Filigrane after several years of searching. But I still have no idea if there is an actual designer attributed to it, or if it was just one of those random men's designs with no attribution at all...

It is from Spring 2017 and this is CW 01 Cobalt/White/Light Cobalt (the sharp contrast white area is all matte blanc)

You will succeed in making it yours when he has the chance to appreciate how great it looks on you!! He will have the opportunity to see you happy and admire his scarf more that way

Aaahhh- no it is definitely not his! When it gets close to holiday time, I find things on my "wishlist" and they go in the "Scarf Gift Vault" (TM MrBCat) and he doles them out to me over the holidays. Win win- he doesn't have to look for gifts for me and I don't get something I don't like. There is still an element of surprise for me, as there is always more than one scarf in the SGV.

Lucky you!!!! That is the kind of partner you want. I just buy my own and put them in the sgv known as my closet :)

The "Scarf Gift Vault" is a brilliant idea, and I'll be pitching it to my husband straightaway! (he'll laugh and roll his eyes at me "needing" more scarves, but he'll thank me later for taking the guess work out of present buying!)

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone knew any details about this particular scarf design? There doesn't seem to be much about this duo-toned variation of Eperon d'Or that I can find, but somehow Sotheby's put this one up for auction.

I have this green-blue variation from The Real Real, but they don't list anything about it (that and they listed it incorrectly which I thought was amusing). I bought it for the color though. After it arrived, I noticed the care tag says, "Made in Italy" as well, but it otherwise matched my other Hermes scarves visually.

Mostly, I just want to find out more information about these duo-toned Eperon d'Or if anyone knows anything (year or anything would be great)! Thanks for the help~

Dear all,
I came along different fabrics for Hermes scarfs. 100% silk, 100% cotton, 35%silk / 65%cashmere, 30%silk / 70%cashmere.
Are there others too? I heard of Wool and Silk, but never seen.
There is wool/silk. I have seen this in men's scarves. Disc Jockey (currently on the us h website) is one example.

Off the top of my head, for scarves in about the last 10 years there are different fibre types (cotton , silk etc) and blend types (ratio of one ingredient to another, those are shown on the care tag, but also weave types - which you can guess at when holding the scarf - not tag,

Various weaves of 100 % silk - twill, summer twill, modern vintage silk, jacquards, mousse etc etc
Theee sometimes are NPOT made in France - big clue.
I will bet bet you a steak dinner that the double sided silk scarves are done in a special fabric weave - it needs to have different absorption of the dyes and is printed different

CS/silk : womens has been done in diff weights 63/35, 70/30 - you can tell the blend from the tag
The fibres were changed about 10 years and people reported pilling, the tags said 65/35 before and after the change
There is also the CS blend made in NEPAL - CS light weight, says made in NEPAL

Cotton has been done in various weights and weaves for womens - tag says 100% cotton, but they feel radically different, some is like cheese cloth (rough), some is stiff stuff with an almost silky sheen to the cotton

Cotton/silk various blends for bandana scarves - ladies, but also done in mens collection, the tag would tell you the blend

Wool/silk blend seems to be only in mens collections, I dont remember the ratio

Wool only is available - mostly in mens, mufflers, sometimes made in Scotland

Lame has been done

Just a start of the list really ...
