Does anyone know the item code, color code, or color names for these two scarves? Or the original H blurb about them? I'm keeping a excel spreadsheet with detailson of all my scarves, but these are both older and were purchased pre-loved, so I'm having a hard time tracking down info!

Thank you!

This may help?

SS2008. In Sanskrit, the word ‘Kantha’ means “cloth”, designating pieces of fabric hung in temples and on trees to symbolize prayers that protect the evil eye. For the people of Bengal, it means “quilted and embroidered fabric” and is a true art of recycling, as initially, kanthas were made out of old, second-hand material, including silk from saris. Instead of throwing out the worn material, the pieces were layered and joined together using oversewn seams and embroideries, with all kinds of stitching and motifs, from very simple to very elaborate. A true kantha is a unique work of art that tells a story, evoking the feelings and life of the artist. The designs frequently represent gods and goddesses; flowers; and floral, animal or geometric motifs. The scarf KANTHA, which reproduces one of these pieces, necessitated extraordinary engraving work to suggest fine quilting and embroidery work.

I think it is part of the "Year of India" collection which in my memory is indeed 2008.

Edit: the reason the designer is "?" in the webpage, I think, is because it is not credited to any single designer, as it is inspired by traditional Indian patterns.

A saga of maxi twillies
Found some maxi twillies for sale - excellent education opportunity - photos from ha.com. Have not spent time to figure out if these are authentic - another subject ...

View attachment 4903724View attachment 4903725

Lesson 1 - Maxi twillies came/come in a bunch of WIDELY DIFFERENT sizes. It is a pain to measure the length of a MT - some are 2 meters long, but the size difference is huge when you wear it
It is obvious when 2 sizes are side by side, but impossible to tell if just one is in the shot
There are more than 2 sizes of MT ... not illustrated

Nice photos - the MTs are hardly folded over, see next post - you basically see the full length - both sides - GOOD

Lesson 2 - MTs sometime have different patterns on either side - see above left

Lesson 3 - MTs sometime have IDENTICAL front and back - see above right - the big orange MT is actually shown on both sides, although it looks like someone forgot to flip it for the second photo

Lesson 4 - caretags are rarely shown, cant find find one the left, very tiny on the right

Lesson 5 - no titles or signatures, almost always, no visible hems to scrutinize

To be continued ...

Thank you for your helpful observations!
The MT on the right is identical to my scarf in question last month!

Twillies seem to have stayed the same size, but not MTs, Yes H uses diff names MT Cut, MT, MT Slim etc but those names evaporate once you get to the resale market
And honestly, MTs are too long to really measure, but, I am fussy, I like certain sizes not others
You can be very disappointed when you get it, even if authentic, because it is grossly too big, too small for you , sighhhhh
A buyer beware moment, yes a seller should disclose in the best of all worlds , but sometime they dont know

PS a friend recently bought an MT and I cautioned her before hand - make sure it is the size you want - I was not blunt enough and maybe could have said - you will swim in that ginormous MT - I was being nice, she HAD TO HAVE it , she was disappointed, could not return since seller had disclosed the size, lesson learned about MUST HAVE HS

If your friend is swimming in her long MT, I suggest she wrap it around her neck several times a la an infinity scarf...she may be able to wear it after all! Xx

We tried that ... no go ... the MT is fundamentally too big for her - a big disappointment

Pareos can be like that too - they are cut for a certain body size (tall) and dont work for uber petites, plus there are diff sizes of pareos, they sizes get confused , she got a pareo and was equally disappointed in the size.

I have several of the 140cm carres froisse - mens collection - they come coiled tightly in a tiny circular box and work best if you keep them coiled tight, made the mistake of spreading one out - it is very fluffy due to wrinkles, and takes up an enormous volume -

IMHO, at H prices, the item should be PERFECTLY tailored for you , you should not have to compromise, if it does not fit, it does not fit, but there are lots of sizes that get jumbled together in the resale market, buyer beware, I have seen many get wrapped up in impulse buying - love the designnnn - then buy a overly large turkey - H does manufacture them ...

PS was just reading an article about scarf and necklace wearing, infinity scarves and 24 in necklaces tend to pile up at chest level - not a good thing if you are well endowed - not the knockout look you were hoping for at H prices

Ugh. Sorry to hear about your carre froise going rogue. I imagine you can steam the fluffiness out of it - but then you will have a full sized 140cm, which I presume you do not want, as I also presume from your previous comments that you are petite).

At the very least, if you steam your carre froise flat you will have a luxurious wrap or blanket to use on your next post-COVID flight!

My froisse was fine after I recoiled it , would never iron a froisse or plisse - goes against my religion
