Wow on the Astro research ! Bravo !

Yes, the 1988 booklet is "different", it is a tying booklet, not a booklet showing the collection at any point in time. Mine has the date 1988 at the back, but that is the date of printing of the booklet - not the date of a scarf collection.

The booklet likely shows designs that you were able to find tin the stores ca 1988, I think it is pushing it to conclude a 1988 issue/reissue date for all the designs therein, based on THAT booklet. Some (Texas Wildlife were first issued in 1987), so, a 1988 reissue seems improbable.

Here's a booklet I have dated 1986 entitled How to Wear your HERMÈS scarf. An order insert is bound into the center of the booklet. It lists the 13 scarf designs illustrated throughout the booklet, each with a three digit item #. Sangles and Napoléon are each listed in 4 colorways; the others are shown in only one colorway.

For example, Sangles/Fuchsia is given item #4-04 and is illustrated on pages 12-13, where it's shown with the Far West knot (which I call the Cowboy knot). Little line drawings illustrate the 4 steps to tying this knot. The perforated paper insert is detachable and formatted as a postage-paid envelope that can be returned with your credit card number. Orders ship UPS and state 6-8 weeks delivery. The carrés are priced at $140 with $3.50 shipping for a single scarf.

This is another booklet giving an overview of what was in the stores ca 1986 not what was in the 1986 collection , printed in 1986
Some of those may have been issued / reissued / recolorized in 1984 , 1985 , 1986
I bought my pink Napoleon at Neimans in 1998 but I doubt it was "issued " in 1988
Apologize if i am muddled sounding hard to type details on phone for fear it will correct my spelling lol

Ladies,
can anybody identify this CSGM for me?
TIA!

Dear Seton,

Thank you once again for your feedback on the first issue of Astrologie =) I am again in huge need of your expertise on "Astrologie". I have been trying to make a classification of Astrologie attributes in 50 years, but the math just doesn't add up =( Sorry for my chaotic thoughts I hope I make sense.

So according to different databases (I also used your website for references) there are the following re-issues of Astrologie

- 1963 - first issue, no copyright, author's signature under the rim
- 1970s (Hermesology) - vintage copyright (next to Hermes Paris), vintage tag (the short one with 100% soie), author's signature under the rim
- 1980 (Luxury Scarves, Hermesology) - vintage copyright, folded long tag, author's signature below the rim.
- 1986/87 (Luxury Scarves) - vintage copyright, folded long tag (?), authors signature under the rim
- 1988 (Carrés d'Art, (Luxury Scarves, Hermesology) - vintage copyright, long tag, authors signature under the rim
- 1989/90 (catalogue) - vintage copyright, long tag, authors signature under the rim
- 1999 (Luxury Scarves, Hermesology) - modern copyright, long tag, authors signature under the rim, the appearance of silver zodiac signs (?)
- 2003 (Luxury Scarves, Hermesology) - modern copyright, modern tag, authors signature under the rim, the appearance of silver zodiac signs
- 2005 (Carrés d'Art) - modern copyright, modern tag, authors signature on the rim, no shadows of the zodiac signs (?)
- 2008 (scarf booklet) - modern copyright, modern tag, authors signature on the rim, the appearance of the green zodiac signs.

My biggest question I guess in the 1988 re-issue, the one that everyone agrees on. I know there is the 1988 booklet (the one with a satchel made of Les Plumes on the cover) that also features Astrologie, but I know this sounds very silly, I sometimes have a feeling that that catalogue is kind of a preview for the future collections. I guess my biggest hint is that it features Les Plumes which is said to be reissued only a year later. I realize that that sounds stupid, there could have been a re-issue of course in 89/90, but that thought crossed my mind =))) And thank you sooo much for your help!

Hi, sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner.

Reading thru your post, I am not sure I understand your question?
1988 Astrologie has modern copyright.. I hope that answered your question.

Indulging in my alternative to watching TV, looking at scarves on E*** and I have been mystified with identifying which scarf is hiding in the pleats here :
Is it Grands Fonds Detail ?

Whatever it is it's a very pretty plissé.

Yes gf 2 , it seems brighter - deeper colored - in these photos , I remember the colors as being more like the bottom left quadrant of the second photo - paler - I do not remember hot orange or hot pink at all , my guess is the auction photos have been "enhanced "

Don't mean to imply any dastardly behavior on the part of the seller , plissé are hard to photograph , I give this seller thumbs up for showing it folded - not pulled flat , much harder shot

I think it's Cachmire Ancien, and it's lovely! I'm pretty sure this was only issued as a gavroche (recently) and the CSGM a while ago. Not sure about the dates...HTH!

Thank you, Dear TG! It is Cachemire Ancien indeed! CSGM issued in 2003, gavroche - in 2008. Author is unknown (to us, hehe. I bet H knows who s/he was)

Dear marietouchet,

I am very sorry for my late reply and thank you sooooo much for your reply. Yes this is exactly the booklet I was talking about! :D
As for re-issues, Hermes has always been unpredictable with those it seems.I have catalogues (not booklets but in-house catalogues) for both season 89 and 89/90 and both of them feature 1789 an Napoleon (though both as jacquard and silk twill). So it's possible for the re-issues to folow re-issues very closely.
