I purchased a sweater a few months ago and have worn it handful of times. It is a fine gauge silk/wool sweater. When I took it off the other night, I popped a stitch in the collar and now there is a hole that is at least a couple of inches long.

Is this something that I should bother taking to H to repair? Would they even do that? Or just take it to my local tailor to fix and reinforce the collar all around? The latter will probably be faster.

I did this but in the underarm of one of my pocket tees and I just took it to my regular tailor. I wasn't sure Hermes would fix it and I didn't want to deal with the hassle.

This happened to one of my sweaters too because I have a giant head. I had my local tailor fix it. Quick and easy.

That's seriously what I thought too - is my head that big??!!

@BreezyE , I think I am just going to do it on my own too. I don't feel like coordinating with my SA the time to meet with the H tailor, going to the store, etc. I had some other items I wanted to get taken up by my tailor anyways so will just take the sweater in as well. And my tailor is way faster than H's.

I would take it back to H. They have fixed similar for me with no charge.

@Angiebbb Wow! I am so sorry about your jacket. What a shame. I hope H completely rectifies this situation to your COMPLETE satisfaction.

Here is my outfit for the engagement party for a dear friend’s son. I cannot believe that our babies are getting married now. Btw, was not going to wear my travel Birkin. It is only for pictures. B35 Gris Mouette goes well with this seasons RTW.

You look absolutely beautiful in this Brides de Gala ensemble!!

@Angiebbb I purchased a coat with a known error on the assurance that the Paris tailors could repair it. Low and behold, it turns out they couldn't. I was refunded CREDIT for the coat, which I used to purchase a trench coat that I adore. I've had similar situations with a watch in a different boutique. So while overall I can say that Hermes will mostly stand by their faulty items (because really I should be offered the exact same form of payment rather than store credit if the issue lies with them), I'm mostly satisfied because I always end up finding a replacement item I love more (and usually costs twice as much to the delight of my SAs and store managers).

Given the price points of these items, I think they should automatically offer to refund you, or at the very minimum credit you, for the item and Move On.

Has anyone seen a Brides de Gala twillaine long cardigan this season in pale green? It is not on the UK website but i have heard it exists - similar to the one in pale pink ? would love any mod shots if anyone has purchased it from anywhere!

I tried the pale green in another shirt; the color was beautiful! On the same day, another client of my SA’s purchased the green pale silk shirt. She looks in her 50s, light hair + skin tone. She paired with white pants, the color was also very flattering on her too.

Thank you so much dear. ❤️I went there today and the alterations’ manager was very puzzled: (i) she asked a RTW or floor manager why the SA offered that jacket to me and why SA said it would be a great fit after the alterations; (ii) why the tailor that day agreed to so many alterations. I asked how come no one called me to try the jacket while they were doing the alterations, and she said that should have been coordinated by the SA. The alterations manager also said that anyone with hips and large breasts need to size up 1 or 2 sizes in this jacket otherwise it will never fit well even with major alterations, and if anyone had shown her, she would have said no.

Honestly, not sure they will do something about it. They said they will speak with the SA next week to try to understand what happened. The other manager kept saying she thought the jacket was big, while the alterations manager said all that fabric was on the back bc the jacket was not the right fit/size for me, and that it should not even have been shown/proposed to me. Even they are in disagreement on how the jacket should fit.

The FL/RTW manager asked if I didn’t need anything else to purchase. 😅Thanks but at this time I want the botched jacket to be fixed/refunded.

My friend (who is also a client now) was there with me when I got the jacket, and said she will come along to discuss if this is not resolved to my satisfaction. At least I have a witness. She is shocked too because three people from H were discussing the alterations on the jacket while we were there, hence we thought they knew what they were doing.

What should I do now? It seems the RTW people will want it fixed at all costs (even if it looks horrible) and that I will need to keep whatever comes out of it since they won’t be able to sell it again. I kept saying the fit on the front was not ok either, but RTW person said “i am not worried about the front, it looks fine”. Both alterations manager and I said it didn’t. The alterations manager mentioned the only way to fix it was to remove fabric on the shoulders and make seams on the back, what will look horrible, I have never seen a jacket with seams diagonally on the shoulders.

I just got a bag last week after 6 months with no bags in between; hence if I ask for a bag to make it up for it and keep the botched jacket in whatever way they fix it I don’t think it will work…It is a pity too, because I paid close to $6k for the jacket.

I love the color of the jacket, but it looks horrible on me now. 😢
Wow I am so sorry you are going through this, what a nightmare. Agree with what others have said, H should refund or credit you and move on. This is absolutely on them.

Thank you so much❤️, they said they will try to fix it when I am back. If it doesn’t work, I will insist on refund or credit.
