@dai224
reading this thread I feel moved to ask why the desperation to buy the bag NOW?
Perhaps it would be better to wait until you have a little more money saved.
5k although low for a Hermes bag is still a large sum of money and I would err on the side of caution buying a vintage Box leather bag that I am unable to view in person.
My advice would be to take a deep breath and wait a little longer.
It’s not that I don’t have the money now. The point is that I don’t want to spend 6-7k on a handbag. I’m okay with having one that needs minor work at a lower price point. A bag around this range plus spa would only run me about 5k. That’s my max limit. I’m not one to throw away 7k plus just on a bag. I understand other people don’t mind, but to me personally that’s way too much just on a bag. Sorry, just my opinion. We can end the discussion on this. I only posted to ask about the marks I was curious about on the back of the bag. I didn’t mean for this to turn into an ongoing conversation. I’m sure others are tired of this back and forth lol. I do appreciate every one’s advice on it! :smile:

It does seem time to move on from this discussion, and how much to spend on a bag itself is OT for this spa thread...enjoy the bag if you buy it :)

Does anyone know if H will repair their canvas straps? I bought a zigzag strap to use with my 24/24 and after a week of normal wear, it's already fraying in one spot. Not terribly happy about this given how much these straps cost. I'm wondering if they might repair it for free (if it is even repairable) or if they're going to charge me.

hi fellow tpfers, may I ask you to recommend me a leather artisan in Italy, if you know? I recently bought a vintage H piece, but I suspect it has already undergone some ‘work’ by other artisans, thus not suitable for H spa. Many thanks!

Hi again,
I did end up actually buying the bag, despite everyone’s detesting. I am happy to report that the handle is perfectly in tact, but does look like the glazing could use a bit of touch up. There are absolutely no cracks, but minor wrinkles. I’m 99% sure it’s authentic, but I will have it double checked by bababebi. I was so nervous to unbox it, but I’m over the moon. It really is a beautiful bag :smile:

Yay! I am so happy for you. I was watching it on eBay everyday, and when the auction ended I was cheering you on...because I knew in my heart (or at least hoped!) that you were the person that won it!

And wow that's some quick shipping from Japan! The auction ended on Tuesday and you got it already!

Awww thank you so much! I actually didn’t buy it off of Ebay. I bought it through Japan Mercari. It was listed there as well for $4300. I paid all in all about $4430 with shipping. I bought it way before the auction even ended, and had it shipped via ems. Took roughly a full week to reach me. I was honestly a nervous wreck about the whole process, but everything went very smoothly!

Thank you for completing the story, especially as you might have felt you took a bit of a bashing.
That's really decent of you.

Wow, I'm glad it all worked out for you the way you were hoping. The eBay auction ended at almost $4800 plus taxes and shipping, so you did pretty well. I wonder why the seller let the eBay auction kept running if you had actually purchased it before it ended? I wonder how did they explained that to the eBay "winner"?

Honestly, I’ve wondered the same thing. I’m not sure why they kept it going. I predicted the price on eBay was going to go for more plus taxes, shipping, and duties. So, I bought it through mercari to cut out the excess amount I’d have to pay. I do feel bad for the winner though. I know they can’t be too happy.
