I got my parts back today (strap and clochette) after 19 months!! An incredibly long wait. They originally sent me back the strap and clochette in the wrong color after 1 year and then had to re-do my order and then I waited and additional 7 months. I never believed it could take so long for a spa service and parts. The store is 2 hours from me each way so it's a drag to get there, too. And, knowing their original error and my travels to the store, the manager comped the entire $750 fee for everything including the spa work. How can you not be happy with their post sale service?! Really lovely experience. And my bag looks perfect now.

Hi all, sorry for reposting this. I just saw this thread and thought this might be a better place for my question. I took home a lovely mini Evelyne in Etoupe and Bleu Indigo a few weeks ago and have been using it almost everyday since. I’m actually traveling right now and take it everywhere, and I walk a lot. I just noticed what seems to be scuff marks at the bottom of the back side. I’m wondering for those who have a mini Evelyne if this is normal—if normal then no problem, I’ll just take it to the spa when signs of wear become too obvious. If it’s not normal, then that’s an issue. Thanks so much for your guidance. 32F46ADE-ECB8-45D2-B209-5234F9972920.jpeg

Hi everyone! After researching for over a year and waiting for the right bag to come around, I purchased a vintage box k28 with PHW and stopped by my local boutique (Washington DC) a week ago to drop it off for repair. It has a lot of scratches (box leather photographs really well lol) and the clochette is falling apart so I asked for it to be replaced. I also asked for the D rings to be replaced with the double D rings. The SA told me it would be about 8 months but could be shorter. I accepted and left it with him. When I got home I checked the paper and it said estimated pick up February 2024. Does anyone know if this is normal? For anyone who has sent their bags to Paris, how long did it take for you to get the quote where they provide info on pricing/recommended repairs? This is my only H bag so I'm pretty bummed on parting ways with it for so long. Any info is helpful, TIA!!! :)

if you have done your research you will have found out that, although it is difficult to establish a predictable time that bags might be away for repair or refurbishment, the result will be worth it - especially with box. So don't allow yourself to make an issue of it by being be 'pretty bummed'.

It's a beautiful bag.
Unfortunately yes, up to a year is normal for extensive repair (the addition of the double d-rings is extensive as it requires handle removal and sometimes replacement) and as you can see above, even a clochette takes a long time.
H does try to quote conservatively so that you are happily rather than unpleasantly surprised. Your quote is only 3 months longer than what you were told.

If it makes you feel any better, I have a brand new, boutique bought Kelly 28 that was flawed (pocket stitching) and had to be completely remade, and I am looking at a similar timeframe.

It is frustrating, but if you really don't want to be parted from the bag I'd ask very quickly if it's been sent away or not. Up to you if you can live with the bag as is (I wouldn't add d-rings, but that's a personal thing).

I had asked Hermes to lengthen the canvas strap on my Vespa bag so I can wear it cross-body and Hermes did it with any problem, however when I asked to have a shoulder strap added to my GM Garden Party they refused. They said they will not do any customization or do anything that changes the integrity of the original design.
Hi dear how much was it to replace the canvas strap?

Spa can do wonders, but I wouldn't want to comment on if that could be corrected.
Remember that the first part of the process is inspection and assessment, followed by a report with suggested actions for your approval.
Hermes does not undertake major repairs, like replacing handles, unless there is significant wear or deterioration. I doubt a replacement handle would be suggested in this case.

If it worries you, don't buy it. There will always be another.

Hello! Thank you for the response. I was saying I had done research on purchasing a preloved bag not about repair service, that’s why I asked my question here. Just wanted to see if anyone had experience to share, that’s all.
