Thank you everyone who replied. Everything is new and untouched. But hopefully the manager keeps his word.

I have an exchange question. My SIL helped me buy an Evelyn Etoupe at the Hermes located in Harrods UK, but I really wanted a gray color (Etain or Gris Asphalte). She did not ask for the right color or may have confused etoupe with etain. So can I exchange in the US for a different color, if they have it in stock? I won't see her until the end of Dec, but I would still be within the 30 day exchange policy. Would it be an even exchange, or I read in past posts that I would need to pay taxes on the US price, is this the case? Thank you for all your help.
Thank you @Manon07, most appreciated!
Actually I just called the local store, and they said that I can exchange for stock in the store within 30 days, but not for store credit for future use...just to clarify for everyone.
Cross my fingers that something gray shows up, if not, etoupe is still fine. [emoji846]
They will not allow a return on anything that is not in saleable condition; ie brand new.My husband shoes are too tight. He bought it last week and wore it yesterday but they were uncomfortable. Can we exchange for a big size when he already wore it outside? I have never returned or exchange anything from hermes so I am not sure what’s feasible.
Thank you. And this includes exchanging for a bigger size? It would be very unfortunate to not being able to wear a 1k+ pair of shoesThey will not allow a return on anything that is not in saleable condition; ie brand new.
Correct. Why should Hermes take the $1k loss when the customer bought them and wore them? Your best bet is to try to sell them on the secondary market if they don’t fit properly.Thank you. Is there any shoe company that does that? I cannot imagine that a shop would allow an exchange for shoes that don’t fit - not worn ones. Defect perhaps but not fit.Thank you. And this includes exchanging for a bigger size? It would be very unfortunate to not being able to wear a 1k+ pair of shoes
If you are serious about returning it, I’d say the sooner the better. You can’t control their view of you and if you truly don’t want the bag, the price of an exotic Lindy is far too high for “a good relationship”. I would definitely encourage anyone to not make returns a habit but what’s done is done. Return the bag and if there is anything lingering on your wishlist (a wallet, piece of jewelry etc) I would encourage you to purchase it during the same visit to show that you want to remain a customer in good standing and soften the blow. But again, don’t just buy to buy. Make sure your heart is in it so that you won’t be tempted to return again. So I have just been dying from stress because of an impulse purchase of an ostrich Lindy 26, which is the biggest amount I have ever spent on a bag and it’s not even on my wishlist... now I am thinking of returning it, but I am worried that I will be labeled as the PITA customer who is super fickle. I think in the UK, I can get a full refund if I return it within 14 days... what I am most concerned about is: Will this ruin the relationship with my SA? Will this ruin my history?
