No problem, in my experience London prices are slightly more expensive than France but way under US prices! I think things get distorted because we often focus on the reseller prices!!

Thank you so much for your advice & experiences.
Just to clarify, I believe I can exchange my goods or accept a credit note if I take them to my local UK store, but I can't have a refund.
What surprised me was that my friends who have a place in Marbella, could return them on my behalf within the 14 days, I would not be entitled to a refund. A very expensive lesson to be learnt!
I know my lovely DH would be happy if I kept it and used it but surely you need to love it, especially when it cost so much.
So, what now ladies? Would love more advice here:help:
Excuse my ignorance, but out of my depth here - what prices do Kelly's & Birkin's start at? Might be worth using it as a deposit?
It seems such a waste to spend £5,200 (it was £ not Euro's) on a several pieces of jewellery; I really only the love the Clic H/Clic Clac bracelets but there's a limit .....

I'd keep an open mind as there are so many beautiful bags at Hermes..
You just never know what you will find unexpectedly & there are some new
styles coming out for srping/summer, so you may see something that you will like

I suggest you go to the nearest Hermes store, explain the situation and ask if your credit (if one is issued) can be put towards a Kelly.

I responded to your question on my thread before reading about your situation. I want to clarify a little.. My DH got the bag as a walk in but he has a history at Hermes and they just happened to have a shipment that day. I think he was extremely lucky.
I agree with some of the ladies here. Don't keep the bag if you don't love it. Just go and talk to your local store and explain your situation and who knows? You may get lucky and get your dream Kelly!

+1 I've never heard of H issuing refunds. Even during the skunk bag period most people seemed to get a credit or a replacement, no refund
If you can return your goods to the store you purchased from, I'm sure you will be able to get a credit note. I couldn't return mine to the country of purchase so I only had one option; an exchange within 14 days. It was a very expensive H lesson, but you live and learn. It certainly hasn't put me off the brand, I love the jewellery and the bags, the design, style, quality etc etc and as I have also learned, other high end brands operate the same refund policy.

I hope you now have your credit note? Would you be happy with another Bolide or no to the design? I think the store may consider putting you down for an allocation of an Etoupe Kelly. You can but ask. Best of luck!

No such luck on the credit note front as it was a purchase from a different country so I had to choose a different bag within 14 days from purchase. The H staff were absolutely brilliant but their hands were tied. I do like the bolide but in brighter colours, but it wouldn't be bag I would choose, plus I don't think the shoulder strap is wide enough to support the bag when filled.
I can only hope that I will be offered a Kelly in the fullness of time, as that would be my H bag of choice.
Oh I see yes. The purchase made in a different country probably does make things more complicated and also the price difference. That is probably the reason for the restriction in store. Well I certainly hope you get your Kelly very soon!
