So for oversea purchase it can be only exchanged or returned to your local store within 14 days?
i got a 35 Kelly. But i was actually looking for a 32 or 28. Do you ladies think i would be able to change to a small size? or Birkin or even constance? It was a long story when they offered me the bag. my friend said she wanted it and asked me to help her get it. And after i got it she changed her mind. So im stuck with a 35. Which is too big for me. What should i do now? sniff*

You have 30 days to exchange or get store credit. If any portion of the item is an exotic skin requiring a CITES, H will not exchange/refund the item. If you return a bag purchased for x in foreign currency, you will receive store credit at the US price. Like all things H, exceptions can be made to the 30 day window. And if you are lucky, your SM may approve an exchange of one B/K/C to another B/K/C they have in stock.

Last, please don't presume everyone here is a lady. There are plenty of men on TPF happy to contribute/help.

Thank You. So i would have to stop by the store and try my luck than i guess. Would it look so bad to carry the big box with me? Or i should go and ask first. I have no prior relationship with a SA.

I am sorry to hear of your plight. Since your local store may not have a bag you want for exchange, your best bet may be to get the store credit and then wait for your dream bag to come in. it's annoying to have all that money sitting there without a bag, but that may be the solution. Hopefully your SA will do wonders for you.

Sorry this happened to u!
Hermes will accept it and give u a store credit but I'm really not sure if they might offer u another Kelly. Perhaps u tell your SA that the size really doesn't work for u and hope for the best.

Personally I think this is your friend's problem and she needs to solve it. For a brand new K in box she can get the retail value back unless you bought at a really unfavorable exchange rate. So, she should refund you the cash and resell the bag, and this way you are not dependent on H.
Your other choice is to see if your local store has a bag you would want to exchange for.

I'm sorry to also add that H is not likely to exchange for any B/K/C from their inventory for you. From what I've read/heard you will receive a store credit that can not be used for another B/K/C which basically means, you should not return the bag to H. Your friend should accept it, pay you for it and she should deal with selling it or returning it to H for a large store credit she will not be able to use for a bag. It was nice of you to get it for her but it's really her problem, not yours!

According to H rule, once they accept your return, store credit will be given. And unfortunately you can not purchase b/k with it. It states at the back of the receipt.
Im assuming this applies worldwide, if not at least in Australia policy.

I think its better sell as brand new thru reseller market.

That policy doesn't apply in the US, at least not exactly. I returned a Birkin for a Kelly and had a store credit for the price difference. I used that credit when I bought my Barenia Birkin. Maybe partial credits are different.
Anyway there's still no way to know 100% or know what other bag you can get, so I agree - resell it

Here in Australia, you can not return b/k/c for refund. But you can return and have store credit. However you can not use towards to purchase next b/k/c with store credit. That was my experience.

I haven’t purchased anything in several years but I doubt the policy has changed. One can return any unused item to Hermès within 10 days of purchase, either for exchange or a full refund which I’ll be in the form of store credit. NO chargeback on credit card, at least not on handbags-not sure about scarves.

It's very difficult to give a definitive answer to your question without knowing additional information about your return. Hermès will take many factors into consideration: do you have a receipt or is there a record of your purchase? Is the item in unused condition with all appropriate tags attached? Did you purchase the item with a store credit? Only the boutique manager can answer this question based upon all of the unique factors of your particular return.
