This is the X bag from 2016? And the plastic is still on the hardware? Most likely there has been a chemical reaction and the metal has started to oxidize and corrode.

Haha! I did this bag as a combo of my two favorite colors I didn't yet have in a bag....Raisin and BE :love: (Yes, that stitching is BE like the interior.)
I think I'd be equally happy with the reverse!

yes this is the X from 2016. Yeah looks oxidised but not sure about corrosion as seller does not disclose and claimed hardware is okaywhen he lift up plastic seal. looks like i wont be going ahead with this purchase

yeah especially if living in humid countries! I peeled off stickers on my brand new Kellya couple of days after I got it but then applied orangeshield stickers on. I have not bought the Birkin yet, looks like im not going ahead to then,not happy for using jewellery cloth to lessen the appearance only

@docride says you can use the Sunshine polishing cloth on the metal hardware to polish off some surface stuff. Worth a try if you decide on that bag.

Hi! Beautiful Raisin Chèvre Kelly! Can I ask if this is an SO or was an offer ? I’m hoping the latter as I’m not sure how often single color chèvre are available in boutiques this year. Used to hear of push offers in dark colors, now not really :/

The 2016 would count as the re-released later color so tends to have the more brown tone to it. If it's helpful, here's a picture of my gorgeous new to me 1999 B40 in Raisin Chevre taken in daylight that shows the beautiful deep purple color. There's also an Ode to Raisin chain here in the forum that has some fantastic examples of the way the color plays with different leathers and from different seasons.

That is a beautiful classic with many desirable attributes.

On the general topic of preference for some vintage examples if colours like raisn and rouge h,
I wonder if there is something in the dye that matures with age and exposure to light and air?
Just a thought.
