While others have given you advice based on the colors in these photos, I think the issue with using photos is that the difference may just be different lighting conditions and white balances of the photos and not directly translatable to how different the bags are in real life. I can see the hardware also has very noticeable color differences, and assuming both are Gold hardware this may suggest that the photos themselves are not very equal…are these by different sellers? Had it been the same seller I’d ask for direct side by side photo for a better idea…

Indeed must be the lighting, i have also just noticed the hardware gold differences. Yes same reseller but its virtual consign she doesn’t have the birkins in her hand so unfortunately unable to compare side by side. She have only sent me more of the Stamp D pics as below.

Yeah the first photo here looks a lot closer to the other stamp X bag’s color (the color seems cooler / less warm), so might just be how they are photographed. If I have to make a guess these bags are probably not too different IRL in terms of the color. Do you mind veins? I know it’s a personal preference; some do some don’t. If you would prefer less visible veins then perhaps go with stamp D. I personally don’t mind veins - if it were me I might just choose to go with whichever one is cheaper if there is a price difference (and if the same price I would go D). Best of luck deciding!!

Ladies, if you were in my shoes which raisin would you choose between these two? stamp D vs stamp X, whats your thought about the togo vein and the richness of raisin?

p.s condition of both H bag are very very similar, just different year 2016 (X) vs 2019 (D)

I think I'm in the minority in that I like the X stamp! It may be the photo but the colour looks darker and less 'bright'.
I dont like Iris purple as an example as I'm not a fan of bright colours, I love colours to be so saturated that they register almost black in some light
I love the purple of your beautiful wallet for instance.
Which shade do you prefer? that of the D or X?
Could you buy one and ask them to reserve the other so you could exchange if your 1st choice isn't as you'd hoped IRL???

It is so hard deciding, condition wise both are like new very similar. Just Stamp X has veins and it is a 5 years old bag and Stamd D is just a 2 years old bag. Price difference is about $2.5k for the older bag. Does getting an older stamp makes the bags less valuable in the future?

To be honest I don’t know if I appreciate veins or not, as am very new in Hermes, might have to see the veins in person to find out but I can’t with reseller based in different country

I think veins are a very personal thing-I recently was shown a togo Birkin where the skin of the back had very very fine grains no veining but the front had distinct veining and I actually loved it.
I have a bag in Fijord leather which is known for its distinct veins.
I dont mind veins but some hate them again personal taste.
I think you will know when you receive the bag.
I never worry about bags holding their value (though one would assume Hermes bags should stay at a premium price point even when vintage) because I dont buy with the intention of selling.
Others will no doubt be able to give you an informed viewpoint.
The main thing that bothers me about the D stamp is that a bag thats 2 years old still has plastic on the hardware which can cause damage to the plating if left on for a long time.

I think I really have to own one with veins to find out whether I like it or not, at the moment I don't think I mind as long as not too much veins perhaps. I don't buy with the intention of selling as well but it's just it's just nice to have something that hold a better value, like if it doesn't makes any difference with these two bags X or D I might just go with the one which is cheaper. the plastic on the D is still not too bad compared to the Stamp X, plastic is still left on with dust caught underneath which is pictured below, which also makes me hesitate whether to really get it now from reseller or just wait for the next raisin season and buy brand new then:

Raisin is my all-time favorite Hermès leather color, closely followed by Rouge H. I agree with others that lighting and your computer's color calibration has a lot to do with your perception of the purples depicted. That being said, if the minor variation in hue matters to you, buy a bag that you can hold in person and inspect. Otherwise, throw caution to the wind and fall in love with a bag in the best purple (IMHO) Hermès has ever dreamed up.

For reference here is my 2008 Clemence Picotin in Raisin, and a belt strap (also 2008) in Raisin Togo.

The price difference is enough for me to take the bag that costs less. They are both beautiful, and once you have it in your hands, you won’t be comparing them side by side. What did the seller say when you asked their opinion about the color difference?

I am extremely picky, but if both bags are so similar, I think that’s a sound idea. If you were able to compare in person, it might be different. However, is it really worth an extra $2500 to nitpick?

I do not mind to pay $2500 more if it is a brand new ones. im quite picky as well. like you say if could compare in person it will be different, definitely take the cheaper option but yeah, extra $2500 not worth it to nitpick for the claimed similar condition

Earlier Raisin (early 2000s) was often in Box, which rendered a wonderful deep purple and is TDF. Also, earlier Raisin had Acajou stitching which was a bit of a contrast (see @jyyanks bag above and hi Jyyanks  !). That said, Raisin today can still be very purple - the Evelynes I've seen (Clemence) were not very brown.

Here is 2019 Raisin chèvre. There is no brown in this bag IRL - it can appear blue and in the dark, almost black.
