I'm interested in purchasing my first evelyne bag, but don't live anywhere near an Hermès location! Will the boutiques ship? I have history purchasing from hermes online.

Thanks for any info!

I've just read this thread and was curious. I'm a newbie and my question is - if you have a great relationship with your SA and you made orders by telephone before, couldn't they warn you that it won't work anymore?

My SA in Philadelphia said no shipping for any leather goods.

Lucky the store at Tyson corner where I have a long time relationship with, they provide messenger delivery service for DC MD and VA area

I was just in Hermes King of Prussia on Tuesday. The policy the SA stated (which I've gotten from other H boutiques) is that you can order silks by phone, but no leather, which includes bags, of course. Palmbeachpink suggested a great idea of shopping on H.com for an Evelyne. I check the website every day, and the right color will eventually be offered. You just have to have patience and be faithful about checking.
Also remember, if you order online, there's no sales tax, just the $35 and $45 shipping fee, since there's no H boutique in your state.
That's why most of my H comes from the website.
Good luck!

Hi Ladies,

I have but barely dipped my toe into the magical world of Hermes!

Right now I have a few scarves and 2 CDC's, all purchased from trusted online consignment shops.

Now I'm ready to be a big girl and buy a CDC from a boutique! But is this even possible over the phone??

I'd love to find a Fire CDC with Gold Hardware, but would be open to many other options.

How does one begin such a process?? Do I call a large boutique and just ask what they have? Or a smaller, less busy boutique and hope I get someone who can track one down for me? How quickly do they sell out? Will I be mocked?

Thanks!!!

Hello! Welcome to the wonderful world of Hermes!! Addictive world that is. :-).
It used to be possible to buy CDC's over the phone from boutiques, but I think they no longer do this. I talked with a boutique a few weeks ago and they told me they're not even permitted to discuss leather availability over the phone for even small leather goods. Perhaps some other more experienced members here can give you better information than I have. Be sure to check the H.com website because CDC's do pop up on there from time to time and these are available to ship to you through the mail.
Best of luck and I hope you get your Grail CDC soon.

Cheers,
Dagny

It never hurts to try calling a store. You never know. I've been told that Hermes is slowly lifting the shipping restrictions on leather goods, although CDCs are quite sought after, so they may still be reserved strictly for in store customers. Another option may be to call the Hermes in Neiman Marcus. I'm not sure if they adhere to the same shipping policies that the boutiques have. Good luck!
