Hermes Phone Orders

I don't agree that the store inventory got better. Maybe happened to be at some stores that their shipment just arrived. Sure, there may be more GPs now from the inventory report I saw in many stores but not a lot more on leather bags.

I also don't think that the new policy will make it easier for a walk-in customer to buy a B or K. They would have to play the same games and purchase a few items like scarves and a wallet before they can pop the question.

My SA told me that this is creating a huge problem for some stores in terms of excess inventory. In the past, some of the slower stores were able to move inventory via store transfer but now they are stuck with DEAD inventory. Plus the winter orders are starting to arrive so this new stock will flood the stores and if they don't move as fast, it creates a problem with the budget to buy for the following season.

On the other hand, the high volume stores continue to turn away customers as the stock is not coming in fast enough. Look at San Francisco, they hardly have anything that customer want.

I am happy for anyone who gets what s/he wants from a Hermes boutique but today, I was in "my" boutique and I wanted to put the shawl I was returning on the counter while I was looking and you would have thought I had placed a bomb on the counter. Nope, can't do that. New policy says so. Since it was not "their" merchandise, I had to keep it in my hands while I shopped. Okay. I asked about a CDC, and my usually darling sa almost admonished me for asking since I have "so many." I think sa's are feeling the pressure and even they don't like it. Big ole Bummer! Also, even if I know of a bag sitting in another boutique, my sa may not call and transfer it. No "leather" transfers. Big bummer again.

The official policy starts on April 1st according to my SA. Although TPF members have been circulating the news for over a month, there has been some leeway with some stores on bag transfer. I was lucky to be on a wait list for a Picotin in an out of state store and gave up after hearing the new policy. Then I got an email from the SM last week that she can still ship the bag since I was on the wait list before the new policy is effective. The SM had to jump thru hoops to get corporate approval and I wish I can continue to give business to that store. Their service is impeccable.

TT, she had the taste and you had the money! I am not sure what I would have done, that's how shocked I would be with that statement from a SA. I think the world would come to full stop for just about a nano second. Good decision on your part to change to a new SA.

Just how frantic was FSH? My BFF will be there during the next few days, and I am sure it will be crazy!

Last week Tuesday was insane. They must have gotten a shipment of bags because never have I seen so many amazing bags coming out of orange boxes. It was so overwhelming I left. Ostrich rouge casque 30, 28 Kellys, the patchwork Birkin in 35, croc Birkins and Kellys all over the place, and it went on and on. The next day Wed. was more settled but busy. Each day thereafter got busier. I did not even try Friday or Saturday. Imagine it was elbow to elbow. Not for me. They had almost no SLGs or leather bracelets however. Nice RTW and a wonderful selection of jewelry both silver and gold/etc. Many new styles I had not seen before. I got a lovely tour of the gold and jeweled bags. THAT was an amazing experience and no crowds in there.

TT, that sounds insane, and what an experience to witness first-hand!

Oh! Why is there never that scene when I am there, I haven't seen a 28 Kelly in ages!

I'd agree with Tanker Toad too, about seeing more inventory on the shelves in my local store, and also more in back to be brought out. Because we're only in this area for the winter months it's not where I buy the most but I've been a seasonal regular there for about three years.

We stopped by in January and there were only six leather bags in the store - women's and men's. And they swore that there were no more in the back. That has never happened before. This is a store that had sixbrown Kellys for me to look at a year ago when I was asking about that combo for a friend. No Kellys this Fall or winter at all.

Last week we went in again and the shelves were full of leather bags, lots of Lindys in both sizes, a Bolide, several Evelynes, a Polochon type of bag and several leather Garden Partys and the new clutch with the large Chain d'Ancre fastening. Several bags in the men's department too. We asked about several colors and more bags were brought out from the back. I idly asked about Kelly 35, as I always do, and they had one that was just off hold. So things, at least here, have noticeably improved.

The new leather policy, that I had to be there in person to buy. They also stated that the one Kelly/one Birkin per person, per year policy had been amended to one Kelly/one Birkin per person, per season- that would be two of each per year. In theory anyway! So we'll just have to wait and see how it goes.

I am happy to hear another person who has found their store packed!:flowers:I hope to hear more positive experiences.

My local boutique is also putting more bags on the shelves and my SA reports increased optimism among the troops now that they actually have some merchandise to sell!

My SA and SM as well, and I will be forever grateful to them.

Pierina2 - I should move to where you're. Here I'm in the corner of US, our store has about 3-4 bags max in the past six months. It is really sad. I've not seen any improvement even on under the radar bags such as GP, Bolides or Lindy.

What is your SA suggesting ? that you're a reseller since you can't consumer more than one CDC ? I think they always contradict their policy. Sometimes they say you don't buy enough to qualify for a B and then they say you buy too many of the same product and hinting that you don't need more. What the heck is this theory ?

Makes one think twice about walking into H boutiques these days. They should close up all their brick and mortar sites and sell on line. H would do just as well or even better while saving SA salaries, benefits and us a lot of gas,and for some airfare.

I remember having less than stellar shopping experiences at Circuit City and thus stopped going. I did a happy dance when they closed. Sam's Club with their long lines, few cashiers no matter what time of day or day you went, I stopped going. Why make life more stressful? It's about pain avoidance/agrravation avoidance.

If I want to be stressed, I'd go to my office.
