Here's what I know about MP and Madison.
My SA specifically told me 2 weeks ago, and then reiterated in person on Saturday that there should be no bag sales ( except for the large men's travel ones or the totes) through the rest of the year. I confirmed this with an SA and a manager when I was at Madison this weekend to pick up a jacket that was tailored). The stock is diminished, and they are not expecting any more. This does NOT apply to any other department ( shoes, RTW, jewelry etc.) Multiple reasons, some obvious and some mere conjecture, so although interesting to speculate, that won't get anyone anywhere.
Now is that written in stone? Is it always possible that in December ( magically) the "ban" will be lifted for the holidays? Or earlier? No one who is talking has any idea. SAs aren't happy and apparently, some clients aren't either. Doesn't matter-that's the reality as it stands now. And the "ban" only applies to bags, nothing else.

And honestly, that should be fine from a client/customer POV. If you love the brand, value the craftmanship and appreciate the time and effort that went into creating that bag, whether you acquire it NOW or in 3-6 months ultimately does not matter ( although of course , it would be NICE to have it now :graucho:). You will love it when it does appear. And no, I have not already bought 2 "quota" bags this year, nor have I been offered an SO ( and I won't be, as per my SA). So that's NOT the place this is coming from.

It's much worse from the SAs POV- just consider the added stress and anxiety of continually having to say "no", having people think you are lying to them, and many of those people being impressively rude, all the time worrying about your holiday season's commissions dwindling while being cheerful and charming.

So (and please forgive me, I do NOT mean to offend anyone, and apologize in advance if I do) just take a deep breath, and take things as they come. It will be fine.
Thank you for this. Me personally is ok for the delay . I feel for my SA as well .When they come , they come I told my SA .I never push my SA that’s why I came here to see what is going on.

Thank you for the update @nymeria! It’s a little difficult for me to process all this. IMO, it’s like a freak hurricane. But, its a very 1 % problem. I am glad you got your jacket; I loved it on you! Maybe if there isn’t any other distraction, you will consider picking up the white one too! BTW, the last time I was in chanel (last month before I left for a trip) the bag shelves were empty. Hugs

i just saw this thread and post #26 by @b05TtH

quote by @b05TtH : A friend of mine was told that there will be no bag shipment in the next 3 months  (she is in the US and has been having good relationship with her SA for years). Hermes has been selling so well this year they decided to pause bag shipment until 2022 to maintain scarcity

Heard the same from my SA at Madison. The last time I went in 1-2 weeks ago, she told me they wouldn't be getting anymore bag shipments for the rest of the year. People who hasn't got their second quota bag is most likely not getting it. They also don't plan on opening on Sundays during the holiday season.

My SA said same age at first asked if I am not picky phw is easier to get I told her prefer ghw and I tried for anniversary it didn't work last month and she told me to wait. But yesterday she said stock is soooooo bad . I don't even think I can get my first one before year end

I have been shopping for over a year and have probably spent closer to 3:1 now across a lot of different categories (Leather goods, home, RTW, fine jwl). I have not been offered a B or K yet but understand there is low inventory and ppl who have higher spend. You def need to establish a good relationship with one SA and make the effort in spend before getting an offer or even having your wishlist added to the system. FYI, I shop at MP.
Wow 3:1?! What portion for Fine Jelwery and RTW if you don't mind me asking. I just got fine jewelry and RTW finally starting too but not sure good enough to get sooner . Are you very set in stone for certain B or K or did you tell them wide range?

I can say that I also spent around 3:1 in rtw and fine jewelry before being offered a b25 a couple of months ago.
