Enjoyed the event tonight! It was on the rooftop of the Meatpacking store. Weather was lovely, cocktails were delicious, and hors d'oeuvres were yummy. The special performance was an award winning poet Aja Monet. She was amazing, her poems were powerful. Christine Nagel gave a lovely speech about the Barenia scent and how it came about. And I was able to chat briefly with her later and she was so kind to take a selfie with me lol. The party favor was a full sized bottle of Barenia! Overall a nice evening!

Here she is with Diane Mahady

I think my husband and I were talking to her right before you took the selfie. I think he offered to take the photo? He was the tall Italian guy talking to her in French.

I'll keep watching this space and the H website with fingers crossed! Planning a quick anniversary weekend in NYC this October and I am not at all above keying the timing to an H event like this.
Petit H will be at Madison for 1-2 weeks in October. It seems it will start around the 7th, but my SA will let me know. They will take over a part of the ground floor for it.

Oh yes that’s right! Too bad we didn’t realize at the time lol. Christine was very nice, wasn’t she? Did you enjoy the event? I thought it was lovely.

Hi dear, it was really fun, it was the first event we went in the U.S., so we met a lot of people. Christine was adorable. She speaks English very well, but she explained she wanted to discuss the parfum in French because that is how she feels it. Having two Latin mother languages I understand, Latin languages are very touchy feely (I mean it in a good way).

According to an article in the new edition of Elle Decor which highlighted several of the Petit H items,
the event is scheduled at Maison Madison Oct 11-26th..

Thank you thank you - appreciate you remembering me and sharing the update! Had been considering scheduling our trip to the city the 12th-14th, so this could work out quite nicely!

Sigh. Wandering into the nyc thread to ask if anyone in nyc has been informed, as I was in Boston, that it’s officially one QB per year now? If this is store specific I would probably switch over to Madison. I spend enough for two imo (I have spent $30k+ since my first bag) and I JUST started acquiring bags so it’s really a bummer.

I think a lot of non flagship stores are telling their clients esp new ones that its one a year but like everything at Hermes its not set in stone.

However, at Madison and even a lot of the smaller stores 20-30k is min for one bag....Just based on what I read here and what I hear from friends IRL and my SA

really? I feel like I read a LOT of posts that are 1:1 spend. Maybe those just jump out at me more - or I need to move to Texas 😂😂
I think if you're looking at 2 bags a year you would probably look at spending at closer to the 2-3x:1 ratio vs the 1:1 ratio. Also, perhaps 1:1 posters would be more eager to post than someone who spent 4 or 5x:1 their spending?

I think you should stay where youre at if you feel like you have a solid relationship with your SA. While Madison may have more bags, there's also way more competition.

IMO only, 3X is not enough for 2 bags, and may not be enough for 1 at madison, esp if an SA gets the sense that one is simply shopping around and is not going to be a regular client. I do not put that much store in reports of people getting bags at 1X or 2X

I average 5X plus in between accepted bag offers. While I do reject bag offers, my spend is not uncommon, nor would I say that i am a top spender in relative terms. I do have friends in a VIP category who are not constrained by bag limits and who do not really calculate spend this way. YMMV

Since you already have a solid collection it makes so much sense to me that you slow roll your acceptances! I would also be very choosy. I have one bag and was looking forward to 2x year. I am only aiming for 4-5 total so really not expecting the moon. 🤷‍♀️

I only talk about spend this way because that’s how people talk about it this forum.

A database of tPF spending reports is inherently flawed IMO; underreporting in terms of missing data is just one key problematic datapoint. Starting or reviving a relationship at Madison with the goal of obtaining a particular bag is likely to be a very expensive proposition or a very long road, or both. If you’re already chugging along in one lane with identifiable mileposts and enjoying the view why veer off in a new direction? (Sorry for the tortured metaphor!)

Exceptional circumstances in the right time and place aside, I’ve yet to read of any reliable report that contravenes the basic advice oft given on how to obtain a boutique bag in the current environment.

Slightly OT, I did note the beautiful new facility Hermes has established in the Auvrergne; but hiring and training craftspeople to ramp up production will mean it will be a few years before supply is materially better.
