I agree with @nymeria.

There are excellent SAs at MP. I’m on the UES but go out of my way to MP because of their service and the people who make up the team, front and back.

MP might be smaller with limited inventory but if you’re paired with the right SA, you’ll find MP is worthy of loyalty.

I have yet to set foot at the new Madison location! No need  .
Thank you for all the replies! It gives me hope to know that there is a possibility of meeting a pleasant Hermes SA somewhere out there in the universe lol.

Anyone knows how the service and stock for the non-QB is like for the Wall St location?

I am fairly new to Hermes and have been going to the Madison store since I live a few blocks away. I have very recently purchased a cashmere stole, silk scarf, and Roulis, all from different SAs (not by choice). Not sure if it is just me but I get the feeling that the SAs in Madison do not have much interest in taking in new customers. I am not looking to play the Hermes game (in terms of buying B/K/C). I am mostly looking for non-QB, scarves, fine jewelry, maybe RTW. I just want an SA to help make my shopping more efficient, and not having to go in constantly and hope for the best that the item is in stock.

I never connected to any SAs so far in the Madison store since their service has been lukewarm (at best). During my last visit, the SA was downright rude, judgmental, and condescending, and looked irritated to be serving me. Note that I always go in the morning, so the SAs are not even busy at the time. I have always been nothing but polite, patient, and low-maintenance and never had much issues in other stores or SAs outside of Hermes. Maybe it is me or just plain bad luck, but I am getting really frustrated with the Madison store. I am not sure if I should try one last time by making a appointment via the concierge (did not know this was possible until I read the post above) versus just walking in and asking for help from a random SA.

I am seriously considering switching to the Wall St location even though it is super inconvenient for me (and meatpacking is too out of the way) if they have better service there. Does anyone have good experiences at the Wall St location?
At Wall St on my second visit I was given a picotin and mini evelyne. I feel like wall st has good bag stock in general… a friend of mine got a Kelly cut, kelly 28, and Constance within a few months there after trying at Madison for over a year

I stopped by the new Madison store today after taking a long break from H shopping since it was stressing me out and had a very nice experience. My home store is in CA so I’m definitely not a local but I was curious about the inventory at this location after reading about the store opening. Anyway, I managed to have a nice chat with the concierge and she paired me with a lovely male SA. I asked about Constance to-gos (which I knew were a long shot for a tourist) which he suggested i ask my home SA about and then asked if they had any light-colored Evelynes and he disappeared for about 15 min and came back with a beautiful TPM in a color I wanted. He also gave me his card and walked around the other floors with me. I’d be happy to share his name via PM if anyone wants. Made me wish I lived in NYC so Madison could be my home store.

Pre-Covid, I had two amazing SAs at Wall Street but they were so amazing they were transferred to management positions at Madison. I mostly buy scarves. When my second SA knew she was about to be transferred in 2021, she assigned me to an SA who was new to Hermes, and that person was so terrible (never returned calls or emails during remote only shopping, except once when I copied my old SA wondering why I couldn’t get help) that I had to send her weblinks to wallets I was interested in (she didn’t know the names of anything, like the Bearn or Dogon) and then she never got back to me. So I gave up.

I have tried MP but always get the bum’s rush there, and despite trying to work with a SA who seemed nice when I met him, he would never fit me in for an appointment even on 1-2 weeks’ notice. So, I kind of gave up there too.

I haven’t been to Madison (location is tough for me to get to during the week) in a few years.

I am not after a B/K (yet!) but now I shop through a lovely SA when I am in FL (where I purchased a GP 30 last year and have been offered a Picotin 18, but that was pre-Covid) or online.

I guess this isn’t very helpful, but it is therapeutic :)

I would simply be patient and ask the front desk concierge for a new SA who is available until you find one you like. IMO only, purchases of a few first floor items like scarves and a popular non Qb bag may not have given the impression that you wish to be a regular client. Although I am happy at Madison, MP has a reputation for friendliness.

Hi!! I’m curious about the etiquette of being a friend to appointments, I’m sure people do it all the time but if my friend is interested in beginning the hermes journey as well, I don’t see any concerns bringing her with me and introducing her to my SA? Thoughts?

Never a good idea to mix business with pleasure, imo. Also, you’d be each other’s direct competition for any coveted goods (most SAs aren’t allocated more than one of anything special) and should anything ever go wrong with her relationship, it would likely reflect poorly on yours with your SA too. Some SAs don’t even want new clients right now so your SA may sour on both of you from the jump. I wouldn’t do it, rather have her find her own way; it’ll be more authentic for her that way too.

Good insight thanks for the honesty and advice! I take it then people don’t really go shopping at Hermes together, it’s not that type of trip unless I guess you each have your own SAs.
