Do you like hopper? I just went. I was meh about the Hopper (Dont get me wrong, Hoppers paintings are beautiful, nd the show is well curated; , it’s just Hopper over decades, was remarkably consistent in his work. Gorgeous, but not much evolution. I apologize if that’s really harsh). ( it’s also possible the mods with delete my post for being OT) So, I salvaged the trip downtown with Banter (better than Pastis) and a visit to MP.

I’ve only been to MP twice, but i heard them tell another client that they have only three bags: a medor clou leather wrapped clutch; a trim; and something else. I do think MP is a jewel of a store, better proportioned than Madison. It’s also exceptionally tranquil. We were the only ones there until the other client came in a few minutes afterwards. It was actually less crowded than after Covid SIP.

But, especially since the opening, Madison is quite nice. roof top garden etc etc. and lots of stuff on display. Whether it’s worth a trip uptown. . . IDK. For all of its grandeur, its still not as charming as MP. Some visitors have said a lot of merchandise is display only. I actually haven’t been since the opening which was too busy for me. You could try MP to see if they have stuff you love, and if yoj have the energy and time go to Madison. I recommend first thing in the morning for Madison, but another poster said it wasn’t too crowded in the evening. Here is some of the Hopper. . . And some of Madison. If you go in the morning, I personally prefer Sant Ambroeus to Banter (78th and Madison).

Personally, I think it’s like when you go to Paris, it’s like do you feel the need to go to all three H boutiques? HTH

Oooh pics! Thank you
Honestly I just like to do something cultural before a big lunch with wine that leads to retail therapy And my daughter likes Edward Hopper so…I used to love going to Freds for lunch (and people watching) which put me in just the right spot for a visit to H. Perhaps we’ll fold in a visit to MP post Hopper and then head uptown the next day to take in the new store. Technically I’m on ban island so I really would be exercising restraint…unless either store has the Robe Legere 90 in which case I’m going off island.
Thanks for your NY expertise!

The new Hermes is quite a beautiful store. Worth a visit, IMO
And just strolling on Madison Avenue is always an unexpected pleasure as well as finding
perhaps hidden treasures.
The Meatpacking store is smaller & inventory might not be as plentiful as Madison.
What might be nice is to make a reservation at Restoration Hardware for lunch & stroll that
part of the city if you don't want to venture uptown,, just saying
Just made a lunch reservation at RH post Whitney…thanks for the recommendation. We had planned to go to Balthazar…so many memories over the years and occasionally good people watching, but I love trying something new.

Hi, I was recently at the Madison H and they did have Robe Legere 90. Not sure what colorways you are interested in and whether they still have it. My input is if you are that close to the new Madison H, I'd stop in to see it and if interested in limited edition Madison only items, ask. Doesn't hurt. If you are heading out of JFK, stop by the TWA Hotel. It's awesome just to take a peek! HTH's.

I've been shopping at meatpacking for a few years, almost since their opening. It's been very frustrating how arbitrary they are with the offers.
I think MP tries to cultivate the youngish Instagram influencer set as its customer base. This is reflected by their choice of inventory, which is heavy on lower-priced pieces that would be easy to recognize in photos: logo-heavy RTW t shirts/knits, trinket-type jewelry pieces, sneakers and Orans. More recently, they've hosted several promotional events for the makeup launches and invited mostly minor local Instagrammers, but they no longer hold showings or events for the dedicated clientele.
I've had a lot of trouble purchasing more "serious" RTW pieces and jewelry because they simply don't order it for the store. Needless to say, the bag offers haven't come as easily as for this woman either.
I’m sorry for your trouble @ktnt98. Another TPFer MP client has told me that she finds the skew number of RTW pieces and has her SA transfer in. Same with a friend who shops at WS. IMO this is a lot of work esp. bc fit really varies every season, and sizes are limited.
what are the pros and cons of meat packing versus wall st ?
@fashionemily7 ,

see the quoted post by @ktnt98 (I found this via search, upper right icon magnifying glass, and I picked it bc she quotes another members MP opinion), but there are many others.

i recall your post re your prespend of 8K at WS before your SA moved to Madison where you have an equal prespend , so I assume you are familiar with WS and Madison.

In general, for Hermes, Brunello, and other brands, their MP satellite boutiques have much less merchandise than their flagships on Madison. i don’t think that it would be easier to get a QB at either WS or MP, but perhaps another member will comment.

I am absolutely shocked and humbled to have been so wrong about this one. @Ethengdurst contact your SA immediately as apparently the Madison exclusive watches didnt sell out and are now available online. https://www.hermes.com/us/en/product/hermes-h08-watch-42mm-W058970WW00/

Just wanted to share I ended up going to the meatpacking store today and had a really nice experience! Waited for no more than 10-15 minutes and spent about 45 mins with a really fun SA. I created a profile with him and after shopping for a few items he asked if there was something else that I wanted, and I asked for the bag that I’m eyeing and he put it in my profile. Fingers crossed it comes in soon! I’m hooked, this is so dangerous for my bank account.
