Asking for a friend (really, haha.) They've been ghosted by their sales associate at Madison Ave -- been calling/emailing for about 6 weeks to set up an appointment but have not been able to get a hold of them or get a response. They've spent about $4K in 2022, and about $12K total over 3 years (scarves, jewelry, Evelyne, Garden Party.) What would you suggest they do at this point? Do you think the SA doesn't want to work with them? Thanks!

With the new store opening, the SAs have been swamped, and I mean swamped, working late hours as noted earlier in this thread. There have also been a lot of departures. AND the old store was closed. So, I don't know if your friend is being ghosted or just a bit down the priority list - or the SA has left.
That spend is definitely not going to get someone priority, especially since more than half of it is bags.
My suggestion would be to try to find out if the SA is still there, and if not, now that it's beginning to calm down, do a walk in and find someone copacetic.

Got a text from my SA who told me they had a bag from my wishlist ready for me but "was not sure" but still told me to go. They then called me to give me details of the bag and I went and got ready to go. As soon as I got to Madison and 62nd, one street away before I could enter the store, I get a call and was told not to come anymore because my history was not good enough (though I think it was suffice for my 2nd QB of the year). It was an incredibly awful feeling, especially because I didn't ask my SA for anything specific, she just thought of giving me my 2nd quota and then took the offer back even though I've had a pretty consistent history with them and the store. I told some friends about this and they said a lot of their wishlist offers were also rescinded as soon as they got to the store.
I hope your SA is able to get your something later this year! When I was offered my first bag from the store my SA also told me he was going to check with his manager for final approval before he could give it to me but he made sure to let me know before I made the trip. To have been so close and told you couldn't have it anymore is so disappointing and I'm a little shocked your SA put it that way. This is probably a crazy time right now so that could be why this situation was handled poorly and hopefully you're able to get your wishlist bag soon!

Thanks - I will suggest that. I didn’t know if they were taking walk-ins. Also, I need to send my Kelly to the spa - do you think now is a good time? I don’t want to bring it in if they’re swamped.

I think, but am not certain (since the store move), that you can call and make an appointment for after-sales care. You can definitely do it through an SA.

It's very inconsistent - I know my NY and Paris accounts aren't linked in terms of seeing purchases (and not just because I bought three Birkins/Kellys in five months) - I've seen my Paris profile and it doesn't show other purchases, even UK, nor does it show anything but my Paris address and one other. My Paris SA offered me a box calf Mini Kelly and didn't know I'd bought one in London.

I also got my third "qb" (gosh I hate that term) of the year at the Madison opening, and I am NOT a VIP at Madison. (I know because I have been told so LOL.)
Lol I love your last sentence! U are definitely a vip on this forum.

They’re swamped with zillions of texts and calls (my SA scrolled through his to give me a sense of this) so I wouldn’t take it personally or call it anything so active as ghosting. SAs are not given extra time to return texts or hunt for stock, (and I believe at one point SAs were not allowed to even take phones home) even for clients of longer tenure with far greater spend. With a 4K annual spend including leather, I’m not sure that it makes substantial difference whether to connect with the old SA or find someone new.

If your friend wants to connect with the former SA, I would keep trying; walk in; or make an appt (perhaps there is a line on the form where you can request a particular SA? IDK. I think walking in might produce the best results.

i think now is a great time to send something for Spa.

@del789 , everything counts in the unofficial prespend in the US. I would just shop at whatever pace feels comfortable

@Cancan, are you sure your friends SA is still employed there? There have been new hires and some were let go.

+1 with @blinggirl74 , re the inconsistency of the rules. I think just go with whatever your SA recommends. i tell my NY and FSH SAs exactly what i have, so they can better ascertain my taste and select items accordingly

I was in the neighborhood, so popped into MP for the second time. It was pretty empty. I always make it clear where my home store is and that I am only curious. Everyone was very pleasant, and the ones who know my SA sent their regards which I thought was really sweet. I did hear an SA tell someone who came in behind me that MP only has three bags: a cute structured leather covered square medor bag; a trim; and something else.

I recently moved to NYC, and at my visit last week, got a pair of Chris sneakers, Citizen Twill cardholders and a Picotin 18 in Craie GHW. It's my first purchase in this store, but have previously gotten a CDC belt and shoes from Wall St and Palm Beach. Do the non-Madison Square purchase still count towards my spend?

Really hoping for a K25 or K28 in a classic colour (Gold, etoupe, noir, any gris, darker blues and GHW) for my milestone birthday in Feb. Achievable?

PS: Dropped off the radar for years... other life priorities :crybaby:

Alright thank you. I just started my journey not so long ago. I want to hear some experiences. If the SA reply your message is it a good sign? Since I didn’t purchase much at the beginning.

Purchases outside of Madison do not count towards your pre-spend if you want a quota bag from Madison. You should try to hit the pre spend amount at the store you want a quota bag from and shop consistently with the same sales associate.

Welcome back and hope life priorities peachy

If you shop frequently with very very very good spend from now until mid Jan making sure your SA is clear of your Feb objective, it can be done

IDK. I’ve always been told you are first limited by the bags the SA is allowed to offer. . .But that aside, and also putting aside the longer standing clients still waiting patiently for their bags. . . if you want a K28 or B30, those are more likely IMO. It is not up to the SA; the SM makes the final decision. And, special occasions like birthdays don’t really factor esp. for new clients Bc to be honest, everyone has a special occasion.

if you are charming; not a pain in the butt; shop frequently and spend generously in categories that are favorable like RTW and home, maybe? My spend in RTW and home was 5X plus (excluding non QB bags) during a severe leather drought 2021, and I certainly waited more than 6 months. But I wanted a B25 sellier which apparently was more scarce than K25.

if you do not like RTW or home, and you are a brand new customer, and you count your prespend closely, it’s far less expensive and aggravating to buy exactly what you want in the secondary market
