When I brought my skunk bag back, the ppl at the repair desk asked who sold me the bag and my ID. What questions do they normally ask when you bring reseller bags in?

I think that is only for the skunk bags because they are offering refunds/credits for those bags. For non skunk bags, there are no questions asked as long as the bag is authentic. They look at it, write your contact info and what you want done and give you a cost and time estimate.

I don't think that's a big deal. I brought my mom's bag there for a teeny repair. She bought it there at the store, and they asked me her name and address too.

Are you having a problem with your bag? I thought you already got a replacement at Madison?

No prob with bag but I saw an orange birkin with ghw from reseller that I wanted. I've never brought from resellers before but read on forums that h only spas authentic bags. I've never brought my bags to get spas before and since they asked me who the bag belongs to when I brought the skunk in, I'm not sure if they would give me a hard time with bags that are not brought in by original buyer.

Just because you buy from a reseller does not mean the bag is fake.
Hermes will not give you a problem or ask any questions as long as the bag is authentic. I have brought all my authentic reseller bags to them and they've done a great job cleaning and polishing. The will not spa fakes AND not all resellers are selling fakes. They don't care how you got the bag and from who as long as it's authentic.

Skunks are different because with them they actually owe you something (a new bag or a credit) so they want to know where you got it, but they will ask no questions for any other bag as long as it's real.

It's funny you say that - I shop at the Madison store and think everyone is generally nice and will at least acknowledge you even if they are with a customer. I went to the SF store this weekend (with my K) and was looking around for 20 min without anyone acknowledging me. I also saw 3 ladies with Bs who huffed about the poor service and walked out without really browsing. DH and I felt really fortunate that our Madison SA makes us feel comfortable regardless of what we're wearing (e.g. the one time my DH showed up looking like he just ran a marathon).
I can't stand the SF store - it's the coldest (attitude) I have ever experienced.

I am so sorry to hear this, QuelleFromage, I know that you are one of the very experienced Hermes posters. This is the store that I shop at. I have only had good experiences there, and I am a relative newbie to Hermes. If you are ever in the area and want to give it another try, please PM me for my SA's details, she has been absolutely amazing so far. :smile1:

^ The Madison boutique is one of my favourites because there is generally good selection and nice service. But it's definitely a very busy store especially on weekends.

Some people might find the SA's a bit aloof but that hasn't been my experience. If they're more abrupt than expected, sometimes it might be because they're just having a really busy moment.

I think it helps to visit when it's not a particularly busy time and also, this being New York, the SAs there probably prefer assisting customers who don't waste their time with unnecessary chit chat while other customers are waiting to be served.

I agree with Leah. I had the best luck with madison ave store so far. I usually visit on weekdays though. I just take a day off and go to hermes. :) I think that helps.
