So it becomes difficult to try something new because i’m afraid my qb won’t be the right one for me. Also, I’m getting tired of my collection really (mostly neutrals) but I don’t have it in me yet to bite the bullet on a pop of color (I’m open to pastels, but this is super difficult too).
I’m like this. The vast majority of my bags are Hermes. When I get tired, I switch briefly to chanel or other. Then I come back somewhat refreshed lol

Thank you for clarifying. I'm at over 1:1 now including a picotin and haven't been offered a quota bag yet this year. I was told non quota bag starting this year do not count toward profile for a quota bag

@missdumpling , in the US, non quota does count, but not as much as other categories like home or RTW. Post Covid, coveted bags sell themselves, and there is limited stock for a larger pool of customers. An SA might even consider the sourcing of a certain picotin 18 as a favor for a customer rather than strictly $$ towards another coveted item.

Your SA may be vague (or you may hear different things from different people) because 1. prespend is relative and fluid and not as fully articulated in the US as in Asia; 2. Your SA cannot guarantee you a bag bc she has to get approval from her SM, (a bigger, longer standing client may bump you further down the line); a request for a popular QB combo may also entail a longer wait; and 3. one’s prespend does not guarantee one to a bag of certain specifications within a certain timeframe. The one to two QB annually is a limit, not a guarantee.

Many of us who are at 3:1 or more are also waiting. If someone who has 5:1 comes along, an SM might prefer to allocate a bag to that person instead of me. That’s life. In other words, an SA might not make concrete promises or statements bc they must prioritize a longer standing, higher spending client. This is why I suggest that one only shops boutique if they would buy the things they love regardless of QB. Otherwise, it’s easier to go authenticated reseller. There are many posts regarding this issue even in the last few pages of this thread

This is strictly my own opinion, and your experience, as well as that of other contributors to this thread, may vary considerably.

Yessss i saw that some people are at 3:1, which is worrisome to me. But wanted to clarify if the non quota count. Which you gave a reply, I'm hearing different things from diff people. I tried asking my SA but the ans she gave was vague.

A friend of mine just visited 2 of the nyc boutiques and they told me stock still appears to be depleted in the NY stores. Quite honestly, I have no idea why this is so prolonged in just this city. But, I'm hoping things improve. My wishlist is getting larger and larger and I just feel lazy going into the store only to be told the items I want are out of stock.

It’s not just NYC, it’s the entire US, and likely the world. Stock has been miserable everywhere for over a year now.

The likely reality is that it probably doesn’t count the actual price of the non quota bag, like it has the effect of maybe a small fraction of the same price piece of fine jewelry or watch. for example $7k non qb maybe counts like $500-$1k of fine jewelry… just a general sense because the official H commentary is that prespend doesn’t exist at all ;)

I agree with you 100%. Exactly what is happening to me now. 3:1 spend ratio so far this year and still waiting for my first QB offer.

Wow I was both shocked and excited to see someone was offered a Mini Kelly with exotic leather today. That’s insanely stunning when see it in reality, even my hubby who never care about bags was jaw dropping I never think I can get it but congrats to the lady who got it today my SA always warning me that it takes years and years to get a QB and only offer for long long history customer.

It’s possible bc stock of all coveted bags (QB and nonQB) is so low, and demand is so high, that accepting a picotin might possibly delay a QB offer a bit further. But, a 1:1 ratio, without other mitigating factors, honestly doesn’t seem remotely close to offer, and all of this is speculation anyway. If a customer feels entitled to a QB within y date, after purchasing x amount, I think they may be disappointed. BC there will be bigger customers who don’t worry about prespend.

It also depends on the specs you asked for and a bit of luck. If you asked for a rare combination and/or something in high demand, you may be waiting for awhile. But if something comes in matching your specs and all the people ahead of you in the line for those specs pass on the bag (possible reasons… they may be out of town and unable to come in to see the bag, they may not reply to their SA in a timely fashion, they may have bought the bag in those specs via some other venue already, etc.), then you could get the call.
