@missdumpling , in the US, non quota does count, but not as much as other categories like home or RTW. Post Covid, coveted bags sell themselves, and there is limited stock for a larger pool of customers. An SA might even consider the sourcing of a certain picotin 18 as a favor for a customer rather than strictly $$ towards another coveted item.
Your SA may be vague (or you may hear different things from different people) because 1. prespend is relative and fluid and not as fully articulated in the US as in Asia; 2. Your SA cannot guarantee you a bag bc she has to get approval from her SM, (a bigger, longer standing client may bump you further down the line); a request for a popular QB combo may also entail a longer wait; and 3.
one’s prespend does not guarantee one to a bag of certain specifications within a certain timeframe. The one to two QB annually is a limit, not a guarantee.
Many of us who are at 3:1 or more are also waiting. If someone who has 5:1 comes along, an SM might prefer to allocate a bag to that person instead of me. That’s life. In other wor
ds, an SA might not make concrete promises or statements bc they must prioritize a longer standing, higher spending client. This is why I suggest that one only shops boutique if they would buy the things they love regardless of QB. Otherwise, it’s easier to go authenticated reseller. There are many posts regarding this issue even in the last few pages of this thread
This is strictly my own opinion, and your experience, as well as that of other contributors to this thread, may vary considerably.
