I cannot believe the interactions that I saw today at Madison Ave. A woman in the leather department started chatting up an SA. She then waved for the rest of her party over. The older lady in the bunch pulls out a bank wrapped bundle of $100 bills (10k) and tells the SA “I want a Birkin with this”. The SA had to take a second to respond before she said “I’m sorry, but we don’t have any in stock” before quickly walking away to the stock room.
And two different people with requests to SAs of “I want a Kelly or Birkin”. Another tourist saying “I’ll be in NYC for three more days, can you hold one for me if you get a delivery by then?”
These people were very loud almost as if they thought louder would improve their chances. It’s like a feeding frenzy for bags.
