Heading to the American Dream mall in 3 weeks. Can anyone tell me if they have good assortments of shoes, RTW, etc? My current home store doesn’t seem to have much.
It depends on what you’re looking for. I think they have a decent assortment of items though they seem to stick to ‘easier’ to sell colors and styles compared to the larger stores I’ve seen. But they also seem to have more items than the smaller stores and duty free shops.

Did anyone else see the new ‘display only’ bag wall at AD? I love seeing all the different bag styles in person. Though, it was also fun to see all the extremely large sizes that were always on display. lol
I was just coming here to say the same thing. B25 in vert fizz, B35 in gold, gold Evelyne, and K32 all on display at Short Hills yesterday. Every item including wallets had a "for display only" ticket on them. I saw a customer try-on the vert fizz bag (for sizing?), but she had to wear white gloves. I didn't stick around long enough to know if she was purchasing it, but it was literally taken out of the display. Does this mean stock is improving? Can someone explain to me what is going on? Is this a new game?

They are truly for display only. I’m sure if a VIP were to come in and drop $100k that they’d become available, but they are really just there for display. MP has started getting more and more display bags and my SA explained that they aren’t part of the stores inventory.

I remember reading on a different thread that corporate controls the ‘display only’ bags and rotates them accordingly. Maybe it’s to beautify the store and to give it a consistent design language like the flagships and other European stores. But I’m sure having the bags so close yet so far really heightens their desirability. On a side note, the last time I was at AD, they had the Faubourg Birkin. It was a treat to see it in person.

Hello! I need some background on AD and the chances of getting a NQ bag like an evelyn or gp at AD during my first few purchases. I've never been to this store before or even this mall. I am wondering if they have a decent inventory of shoes, silks, etc. I made an appointment and I don't know what to expect. TIA!

It depends on what you're looking for. I think they have a decent inventory of more classic items compared to larger stores like Madison. At the moment it seems like inventory is low everywhere so I would recommend making a list of items and manage expectations. As for a NQB, that would depend on your relationship with the SA you are going to work with and the specs of the bag. My recommendation is to go in and check the vibe, find a SA you would like to work with (vice versa) and let things flow.

Thanks for the advice and the background on the AD store. I'll start prepping that list!
