I’m not sure that’s correct. NQB does help you establish a relationship but if you are offered highly coveted NQB (Constance or any of the minis) your SA may think they’ve satisfied you for a bit and may hold off on offering a QB.
Makes sense! Reading about all the stock shortage, it sounds like it’s almost as hard to come by the highly coveted NQBs as the QBs. I just started my journey at American Dream and read it’s a super competitive store. So I’m trying to figure out how to navigate while prioritizing the items I would like and purchasing items I actually like. And someday to be offered a Kelly.

AD is an extremely competitive location :(

I just started my Hermes journey. So far I’ve bought a H click bracelet and a pair of oran sandals from short hills location. I’ve shopped the same boutique but not the same SA both times. I just purchased the Oran sandals on Friday and met the loveliest SA. She was so kind and we had a lot in common and even live in the same neighborhood. She didn’t offer her business card and I felt too shy to ask for it… should I have asked for it?! Or how does it work? I really wished I had asked but wasn’t sure if that’s “allowed”. Lol. Would love your thoughts on this! I turn 39 in July and would really like to have a Birkin by next summer for my 40th birthday. It’s been a life long goal to start collecting at 40. Also, is short hills a good location to make my home store? When I bought my H click bracelet the SA was very rude and cold. Happy I tired again because my last purchase was very pleasurable. Any short hills insight would be greatly appreciated!

@manifestingmydestiny If you see that SA again, just be like "hey I really enjoy shopping with you, might it be possible to get your card? I'd love to set up appointments with you in the future and perhaps inquire through you about items I'm interested in in the future?" I think she'll understand and also it's a signal you want to do business exclusively with that SA.

Then next time you go, make sure you have an appointment with that person. You can also go through the web form and request an appointment with that SA you liked (if you know her name) next time you head in.

You are on the cusp of spending a lot of money over the next year or two....make sure you are getting pleasure out of the experience by working with someone you like that makes every shopping experience fun and delightful. :)

The SA's name should be on the receipt. Contact that store & ask for an appointment with her the next time you plan to visit.

I'm just starting my Hermes journey and I'm local to Short Hills (worked in the mall in high school haha). I'm going to South of France at the end of August and I'm thinking of buying a pair of Oran sandals or a belt lol. Of course with the exchange rate right now it's better to buy them in France vs. Short Hills. I don't have any purchase history at all. I guess basically is it worth it to even start a relationship in Short Hills vs starting a spend history in France?? My head is spinning haha. I'm not in a rush to be honest and I'm still very young so just at the beginning of the journey! But one day would like to have a Kelly :)

I’m going to Paris in a month with my close friend and she also suggested I wait to buy all my Hermes pieces till I’m in France. Even though I will save some money in France, I value my relationship with my SA and know she will help me get my Birkin very soon so I still purchase at my home store. I think one or two pieces in France isn’t a big deal if you do not have an established relationship. It also depends on how soon you want your Kelly — if you want it in the next year or so then I’d work on finding an SA you click with and purchase with them at Short Hills, if you are thinking 3-5 years then spend in France!

Enjoy your trip, South of France is lovely

I’ve been told that it’s best to start your journey with one of the NYC stores as Short Hills doesn’t really get quota bags hardly ever… I buy at short hills for convenience and other items like shoes. But prefer Meat Packing location for better stock and relationship building. I’m still at the very begging stages also.

Thank you so much!! I think I am not in a rush so just saving 20% or so on the sandals given the exchange rate makes sense for now :) Really clear analysis

Vogue Business: "Downtown Princeton, a quaint New Jersey town best known for its Ivy League university, will get its own Hermès store next year. It will be located near the university on Palmer Square to be convenient for students, their parents and anyone in town for events. It represents a fresh new US retail strategy for Hermès. “It’s going to be a small, charming store,” says Bob Chavez, chief executive of the Americas."

Hello! Does anyone have some good advice to get a head start on the waiting list for Hermes appointments BEFORE a store opening? I ask because a Hermes store is opening in Princeton, NJ fall 2023 (I’ve only been counting down since last fall haha!). I live in the area and have been so eager for them to open and want to know if there’s any good takeaways from the Madison store opening. I do not have a history yet with Hermes, since I’ve always lived far from the boutiques and struggled to develop a consistent relationship with an SA. I’ve been eyeing a few things but decided to wait until fall 2023 to start shopping, so I can develop a strong relationship with an SA but it’s so far away! Any advice would be helpful.
