$.15 was charged for the paper bag for my last visit. No charges for the boxes. My understanding is that it's the paper bag fee relating to the new bylaw of the city of Vancouver.

The City of Vancouver’s new bylaw banning plastic shopping bags, and requiring businesses to charge a minimum of 25 cents for single-use cups and 15 cents for paper bags, came into effect on Jan. 1.
Thanks for your reply clarifying (I'm not in YVR so was unaware of this bylaw - but know it is typical of many cities). That makes better sense - hopefully they will never apply it to our orange boxes....

Ohhhh thats interesting, I thought it was for the boxes because she was telling me how they are almost all out of them after the holidays and that I was lucky she had enough for my gifts. She didn't mention the new bylaw to me! That's why I assumed it was the boxes that are being charged due to the low stock issue. However I received the same number of bags so that makes complete sense. Thank you for the correction!

Yes, this is correct and agreed to my experience last Friday.

There seems to be a wide discrepancy with the newly minted paper bag charge: when I was shopping at Holt Renfrew, the SA informed me that their paper bags would cost 50 cents yet at Dior it was 15 cents which is the same as Hermes. And depending where you get groceries I've been quoted 25 cents for a paper bag at my local grocery store.

The bag charge at holts is $0.15 and it goes to charity, the good bank. See attached photo.

I was charged $0.15 for a bag at Hermes but Starbucks wanted to charge me $0.25….it’s very inconsistent!

Hello! Does anyone know if our purchase history follows the store or the SA? What if we walk in and another SA assist us and we make a purchase? Thank you! =)

Will you be shopping at different boutiques or at your home boutique? It's my understanding that anything you purchase (in Canada) will be recorded in your history except for purchases online or in a different country. If you purchase sthg from a different SA at your home boutique, then that SA will be given the credit. If you are gunning for a QB, then it's probably best to stick with your original SA (unless you are wanting to change SAs??) as only he/she will be able to recommend you to the store mgr (once you reach quota) who ultimately gives approval as to whether or not you will be offered a bag.

I think $0.15 is for a paper bag, but $0.25 is for cups. I had a food takeout and they charge differently for the coffee cups ($0.25) and paper bag ($0.15).

I think Hermes just charge us for the paper bag, but not the box.
Yah I wasn’t charged for the box at Hermes but Starbucks wanted to charge me $0.25 for a bag since I had 3 sandwiches. But yah hope they don’t start charging for boxes!

Thank you for the feedback @tea4two . I am shopping at my home boutique, I'm considering changing SA but not sure if that means I need to rebuild my history towards a QB. Do you or does anyone know? Many thanks!
