Hello! I'm visiting Vancouver hopefully soon from the Island. Hoping to stop by Hermes and start building my collection.

Any advice? Good SAs? Should I book an appointment?
It's my understanding that you can now walk in without an appointment, which means whichever SA is free would be able to assist you; however, availability of SAs would depend on how many clients are in the store at the time you visit.

do i still need to make an appointment with my SA or just show up?
Even pre-pandemic, I generally make an appointment to see my SA as she is always busy; it's a crap shoot to just walk in and assume she has time to spend with me. Although I have to say it's a lot more pleasant to shop with fewer clients in the boutique since they have to follow social distancing guidelines.

Hi Guys,

just wondering if anyone has been to the store recently? I heard they are taking walk-ins now.. how’s the situation with walk-in? Are SA’s still taking appointments on weekends?

Any word on inventory situations on B/K

My husband and I attended the Hermes store in Vancouver today, and were horrified by the experience. I had spoken with an SA about an Evelyne bag earlier in the week and she told it would be best if I just came in to the store and asked for her when I got in to the city (we are from outside the lower mainland)

I have had MANY positive experiences in Hermes at several different boutiques and have never been treated like I was today. We had to wait outside for an SA to become available because we did not have a “scheduled” appointment. This was AFTER I told the girl at the door what I was there for, when I was asked what the purpose of my visit was.

I asked for the SA that I had spoken to on the phone and they told me that she was “not available“ but that they would find me someone to assist us. (She had not told me over the phone to book an appointment at the time we spoke). We were handed off to a fellow who then asked us what we were there to see. He escorted us downstairs to the bag section. I told him I was looking for an Evelyn 29 in Etoupe. I showed him the same bag in black that I was wearing.

He looked in his computer and then pulled a lovely orange-y red one off the shelf for me to look at. I told him that I was only interested in the Etoupe color way and he said maybe come back in September, they might have something then.

I then requested to see a Bolide cosmetic case and he stated “we just don’t have any, we are having trouble keeping stock in“. (no sh@t Captain Obvious). We were not invited to browse or to look at anything else, and neither myself nor my husband felt welcomed. We were then escorted out.

As an aside, we did plenty of shopping at Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Holt Renfrew where we were treated like royalty and made to feel like valued customers. I was happy to give them my money.

I would expect better social skills from SA‘s in a luxury brand like Hermes.
Generally , it is the vendors privilege to serve its customers, but in the case of Hermes Vancouver, it is clearly the other way around. What a sad boutique.

In the future, I will fly to Calgary for a weekend for my Hermes purchases.

Is this your first time at the Van Hermes store? I just wonder if this is their new normal. I've only been twice, once 4 years ago for some twillies (got great service), and once a few weeks ago looking for a present. I was eager to go and start building my relationship with an SA so I can eventually get a quota bag, but I got similar treatment to you - dismissive, disinterested in even having to help me, including not trying to even upsell me or let me browse. I was given three options of household items in my general budget, and that was that.

Have you had better experience at the Calgary boutique? I'd rather build my relationship there if I'm going to be treated like a nuisance in Van!
