Morning Hermes Lovers - I need your help!
I'm looking at buying a Birkin in Melbourne and wondering the BEST way to go about it.
Does anyone know if they have a waitlist still / how long the waitlist would be?
Also - I believe it is around $12k for a Birkin 30 in Togo in the UK is that the same as Aus?
Kicking myself as a couple of years ago the SA in Melbourne (who doesn't work there anymore) offered me one but I declined!!
Thanks in advance for your help!
I don't think they have waitlist anymore, I think sometimes they just take your name and details to be polite, and even if they do I don't think you would actually get offered a bag unless it was something like a B35 or K35 in an unpopular colour, something that their clients with buying history want. If you want a birkin in Melbourne you need a buying history with your SA. From what I have taken from friends and my own experience most people spend 0.75 to 1:1 to get offered a bag, more if you want smaller bag, or you are very picky with colour and leather.

I think a B30 is about $16k in Australia, maybe more since there was just a price increase.

Hi everyone,
It will be much appreciated if anyone can give me an idea on my Hermes journey.
I am spending approx 25k aud in one of the boutique in Melbourne within 3-4 months. However, i did not get offer any B/K yet. I mainly buy homewear, RTW, shoes and scarf.
I really need some ideas as I don’t know why it’s soo hard to get a quota bag in Australia .
Any information will be much much appreciated. ♥️

Hi it’s hard to say. Are your spending the money with one dedicated sales assistant? If so, have you let them know you want a B/K? And if yes, have you asked for something very specific?

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
I did spend the money with one SA. I did tell her that i want to score a B/K/C as well. I told my SA that i am alright with any neutral or dark shades .
I don’t know why it’s talking soo long for me. As from the information i gather other people i knows they spend less than me and they already get their bags.
Is it true that k25 and b25 really hard to get?

Why don’t you just ask your SA? If you spend so much money you should already have a good relationship. He/she is the one who will know. Don’t be shy and just ask :)

I did ask her several times but the only answer i got is “we don’t have any bag yet”. I don’t know how true is that statement as my friend who went to the same store with different SA, she scores several bags too. I don’t want to keep asking as i heard if the SA is unhappy i will never get a bag

K25 and b25 usually are harder to get especially in neutral and popular colors. Hermes is mysterious world, several factors can play role in scoring the bag. The maintaining relationship thread is full of tips and facts from long time hermes clients. I hope you get yours soon.
Still waiting for my second bag in Sydney and I am to the point where I won't spend any more before getting my bag.
Take a deep breath, it takes patience and sometimes need to trust our SA.

Thank you soo much for your advice. It really makes me feel better as it’s up to the point that i just want to spend premium price to buy from resellers.
I hope you will get your second bag soon. ♥️

Don't stress it takes time. I gather this is your first bag from the boutique? my first one took a year to arrive and I had accumulated 60K of rtw, shoes and jewellery on my account at that point (no bags). Sometimes the store does not have what you are after, and other times the store needs to prioritise customers that met their spending before you and are still waiting. Be patient it will come.

Yeah this is my first bag. Thank you soo much for your tip ♥️

Hi,

I'm looking for an advice.

I am a first time buyer and am after a Kelly 28 or 32 PHW Epsom Noir atm. I am looking to expand to Bs 30 and other items later.

But, I don't quite want to deal with the fuss that I had read, as I am very busy.

Will it work (fast track in getting the item) if I pay everything in full upfront (debit card instead of cc) when ordering?

Or will I have better luck in Europe? (thinking of a European holiday post this pandemic).

I am a serious buyer who doesn't want to fuss around.

Hi I’m not sure what you want to order. You can’t just order a Kelly (or a Birkin), from the store unless you already have a significant sales history and relationship with the SA. There is no longer any such thing like waiting list or anything like that.

You can probably order other less popular items, or just buy online if you want minimum fuss.

If you don’t mind the (pretty significant) price mark up, you can just buy a Kelly from a trusted reseller and get it straight away.

Thanks. I don't quite want to play the game - buying up - yet. And don't want to get it through reseller yet either. Authenticating and other hassles is a put off.
I'll try Europe and try my luck.
I did get offered to be on the list when I first graduated 10 years ago (w/o any buying history and first time walking in) but I refused because I wanted to save my $ grow it, and it did not feel warranted to purchase a luxury item just because I finished Uni. Now the time is right to get one. Just the how.
