Some of you have asked that I share so here is my story 
We are staying on the west side of Oahu, about 45 min from Waikiki area so I knew I had one chance at this. I would not be able to keep visiting the store as some of you have mentioned.
When I went into the store, I asked first SA that approached about purses and if they had any Birkin or Kelly since I had never seen one in person. I was told "no". I then wandered over to the shoe department to see if they had the Ines wedge sandals I had seen on the web. They did and I asked another SA to try them on. They are now mine... They are the prettiest shoes I have ever owned and they are so comfortable!!!!
Next I asked same SA to help me select a scarf. After looking at a few different styles we decided the 140cm twill plume would work best for me. She selected a few and we settled on a lovely orange, white and brown pattern. It really shows off that Hermes orange color and will make a great addition to my wardrobe.
Enamel bracelets were next. I selected 2 color coordinated bracelets that are orange, pink and purple.
That led us to the purses. I had decided if I couldn't get the Kelly or Birkin I would try for Bolide or Victoria. They had no Bolides and they had an orange Victoria on display and while I was there another couple looked at a bright green one. However, a gorgeous flamingo Toolbox caught my eye. If there was no Birkin or Kelly for me I was going to get this Toolbox. The SA left me for a few minutes to think about the purses and I got up the courage when she returned to say I was having a hard time deciding because I really did want a Birkin or Kelly. She asked what colors (I wanted pink, red, purple or blue) and she disappeared again for about 10 minutes. When she returned, before committing an answer she asked what else I needed today. So I took this as maybe I should buy one more item. There was a necklace I had seen on web so we went to look at jewelry. I selected a long confetti style necklace that I will get a lot of use out of.
So after another short wait the SA took me to a more private area and asked me to wait. She then comes with a big box! As she opens It I can barely contain my excitement. She pulls out a 32cm Kelly in rouge casaque Epsom. It was love at first sight. SA then helped me pick out a Twilly.
All the SAs I encountered here were very nice. When my SA stepped away for a few moments to greet one of her regular customers another SA came over to talk to me and answer my questions on the different types of leather. My daughter accompanied me on this shopping trip ( she is 7) and my SA made her day by giving her a few perfume samples as we were leaving which I thought was so sweet.
It was a fun day...after leaving Hermes my daughter and I picked out matching mother-daughter outfits at a store called Cinnamon Girl. And she made me promise to let her borrow the wedge sandals when she gets bigger

Hi! No it was another SA. I had called day b4 to ask some general questions and that SA was very nice on phone so I decided to ask for her. And it was Ala Moana.

Thanks for sharing your story. I admire your courage to ask again instead of settling for another bag. Most of the time a store as big as this one will have at least a couple of Kelly or Birkin around. It is a tourist area so they don't expect you to build a relationship but rather spend enough at one shot to warrant giving you the bag. This happens in Vegas and NYC as well where there are more tourists. Sad but true since they hold the Bs & Ks random to sell other products.
