Hi all! Just chiming in to contribute on my experience. I was in Hawaii from 7/22 to 8/11 and visited both Ala Moana and Waikiki stores.
Based on advice from the forum, I decided to try my luck at Waikiki. I went at the beginning of my trip with my husband (our honeymoon) and he made an account. We made a few purchases. He and the SA seemed to hit it off and she asked what bags I was looking for. I said a mini lindy, mini 24/24, or mini bolide in any color thatâs not noir, gold, or etoupe. I also expressed interest in a KTG or CTG. Throughout our trip, we shopped with her three times, but she kept saying that she didnât have anything to offer us.
I then decided to go to Ala Moana but didnât make a purchase. I walked in with my Halzan and asked to see charms and was immediately, but kindly, told no charms and no bags. SA was nice though and we chatted about my Halzan.
On the last day of my trip I decided to say bye to my SA in person (we were walking by) and she apologized that she couldnât offer me anything this time, but to give her a heads up when I come next as Iâd be a more established client. This makes me feel that unless I spent substantially, I wouldnât have gotten an offer as they like you to prove you arenât a one-time tourist/customer.
As a last ditch effort to make me happy, she did offer an exotic Roulis, but Iâm not a Roulis fan plus I already have a yellow colored bag. Anyway, just sharing that my conclusion after âtrying my luckâ was that it just opened up anxiety and disappointment. Unless itâs Paris where magic can happen, I think sticking to your home store is better! Unless of course youâre planning to move to Hawaii!!!
