Ala Moana store: ( no appt)
I asked to see Calvi card holder, Bearn card holder, & my friend tried on Oran sandals. The SA said everything is sold out. I asked if they have any purses & she said no right away w/o even asking what I was looking for. I just wanted a picotin. My friend asked for her card bc she wanted to think about the Oran sandals due to sizing. The SA said “ I don’t carry business card with me. Just ask for me at the door next time.”

Waikiki store: ( no appt)
- I was interested in the Hermes lip item so that was the first thing I asked about. Then I asked for Calvi and Bearn card holder. Everything was sold out. SA asked me if there was anything else that I wanted. I said picotin & gave my preferences . She said there was no stock and asked how long I was staying (Only 3 days), I bought the lip balm and left. I visited again the next day & got the picotin w/ same SA. In my opinion, it’s really timing. If they have it in stock they will sell it to you (non quota bags). This store has long line from opening to closing so in my opinion, they literally sell everything when they receive it.

* my friend went in March & met a very nice SA in Waikiki. I texted the SA bc I want to make an appointment, got no response.

** personally, I say go visit the store & connect with an SA. They probably want to get to know you before fulfilling non quota bags wishes.
Nice! What color Picotin did you get?

As with H, there’s no guarantee. Everything is based on timing and luck. If you are able to do a quick trip from another island and it works with your schedule, I don’t see why not. Always a worth a try! I hope that it works out for you!

Regarding the H store at the airport, when I went in Feb earlier this year, it was restricted to internationals only.
thanks for your input :)
As Bloomingtree mentioned a lot will depend on luck and timing. If possible, I would recommend staying a few extra days. I just visited Hawaii last month and only spent 2 days in Honolulu. Both SA I met told me that if I was staying longer there would have been a better chance of getting my Wishlist item.

Airport store will only allow purchases from customers flying out internationally.

Goodluck
we would only be able to stay for a day trip (no overnight) so probably worth it, thanks for your tips!

super helpful, thank you! Happy to hear you got your Picotin! I didn’t even think about the lines (always just make an apt at my home store) so that alone makes it dicey but what you said about such low stock and staying a few days makes me think it’s a nonstarter this time. Darn, but thanks for saving me a trip!!

I was sooo disappointed by my visit to the Waikiki location today. I had a lady who was older and just seemed like a poor saleswoman. I asked about colors for shoes and she just kept saying no to everything. No to shoes, no to any bags (like Evelyne) I’ve been so lucky that every Hermes store I have shopped in I’ve met knowledgeable and friendly SAs but this lady just didn’t seem to care about selling anything. They did have some mosaïque au 24 plates and scarves but when I asked about coming back another day she said oh but we don’t have anything. And I said you don’t plan to get any shipments? Out of principle I didn’t buy anything because I didn’t want her to get any commission. I will try the Ala Moana location. What a bummer
I would do the same thing. I don't like buying from rude SAs..in general..whether in H or not! I am always respectful and polite to them..so there is no reason to be rude.

I visited both stores earlier this month and got offered 5 bags (Picotin, lindy, Evelyne, and kelly in classic colors) in three weeks while I was there.

Note I also spent an insane amount building up my purchase history at both places. Each is about ~10K in pure accessories (nonleather, mostly jewelry items). Including the bags, I spent about ~$50K at Hermes for both stores.

My advice is either you have to be super patient or you buy a lot. In this case, I think I did both....anyways, SAs here are much better than the mainland ones. I spent about ~20K in my mainland account and still nothing yet this year.

If you don’t mind sharing. Which store was your preference to shop at? Which store did you get the Kelly from?

Hi guys. Going to Hawaii in a few weeks and was wondering my chances of scoring a lindy or garden party without purchasing other things first?
Waikiki store is pretty straightforward from my experience. The only thing they might not offer to you even though they have in stock would be mini bags Like mini Evelyne and I can imagine the same for mini Lindy. I have seen customers ask and being told they have it in stock but won’t be able to offer the bag.
