I arrived in Waikiki on Thursday evening last week, went straight to visit the store on Friday and was lucky enough to get a wonderful SA names Minako. I was also a little disappointed at first bc she said she had nothing but with a little persistence, begging and buttering up, she started to show a glimmer of hope. Bc we all know they will tell you they have absolutely nothing and she flat out said I needed a purchase history for any bag that is in high demand, even if not a B/K/C. So she ended up going to the back to look and although she came out with no bag, she asked if I was open to a Picotin, which means that she had it in the back. I wasn’t looking for a Picotin but told her I was open to looking at it if it came in. She looked up my account info, took down some notes, and told me she would text me if anything came in since I am here until April 20th. I also texted her right after I left to thank her and to keep me posted. Lo and behold, she texted me yesterday morning to tell me she got a mini Lindy in in framboise and I jumped on it. So I feel very fortunate to be offered the ML even with hardly any purchase history. Just be patient and make sure you go to the store early in in your trip to give them a day or two to come up with something. And try to make an appt to avoid waiting in line. Hope this helps!
Thanks for sharing! Congrats on mini Lindy! Did you make any purchase at the Waikiki store before the mini Lindy?

nope, this was my first time in Oahu. In fact, I hardly have any purchase history in the US bc all of my purchases were in Europe and Canada and the systems don’t see each other. If you are interested in the contact info for my SA, let me know and I will double check with her if I can share it so that you can make an appt with her and maybe tell her in advance what you are looking for. The only thing she asked if me was to shop with her whenever I’m in town, which unfortunately won’t be that often since I live in NYC. But I did tell her I would recommend her to friends and family. Also, she is off Sundays and Tuesdays. Before I left the store, she asked me if I am busy tomorrow, which means she may have something else to show me . Good luck!

I went to ala Moana yesterday and then back to Waikiki today and left both places empty-handed. (I’ve never left Hermes empty-handed.) The stock is really picked clean in both stores. I did not like the SA I had in Waikiki on Saturday but did love the Ala Moana SA as well as the Waikiki SA I got today. Unfortunately they’re out of most shoes/colors in my size, don’t have any bags, and don’t have any SLG. Waikiki did have a cute large model Bride a brac in black but I already have one so didn’t get it. Got the card of my SA today and will text her next time I go back. Better luck to everyone else!

I have zero history with Hermes .... and my legs and feet were covered with sand when I wandered into the Waikiki store last week .... I looked like a typical hurried tourist that just went thru the wringers. I was able to score a garden party and Pictoin bag at the Waikiki store (and picked up a scarf and belt while I was shopping). The SA must have felt sorry for me because I looked so flustered.

Congrats on your purchases. You are so lucky! I bought a couple pairs of shoes after arriving, and then came back several days later but I wasn’t able to get a Picotin or an Evelyne. SA said no stock.

Just for future reference who was your SA?

Did you have any more luck after the mini lindy?! :graucho:

Hi all! Considering a spontaneous 1-day trip to Honolulu next week as we will be on another island and I'm wondering if it's worth the flight there/back x2 (me + DH) plus the childcare we'd rack up doing such a day trip? Seems like some people are having success with purchasing bags and others say it's picked clean? My home store (SF) has been ultra low on stock every time I've gone in the last year so I'm both jonesing for a new bag and pregnant and wanting an Evie PM as a my baby bag. My SA hasn't come across anything here in a long time despite the SF store typically stocking lots of Evie PMs. FWIW I'm not a big buyer in general - I only buy a handful of things here/there and usually not "just" for spend, so if the boutiques there are low specifically on bags then it's probably not worth it for me. Would love some feedback!

Side quickie question: can you go to the airport store if you're a domestic passenger or just with an international ticket?

As with H, there’s no guarantee. Everything is based on timing and luck. If you are able to do a quick trip from another island and it works with your schedule, I don’t see why not. Always a worth a try! I hope that it works out for you!

Regarding the H store at the airport, when I went in Feb earlier this year, it was restricted to internationals only.

As Bloomingtree mentioned a lot will depend on luck and timing. If possible, I would recommend staying a few extra days. I just visited Hawaii last month and only spent 2 days in Honolulu. Both SA I met told me that if I was staying longer there would have been a better chance of getting my Wishlist item.

Airport store will only allow purchases from customers flying out internationally.

Goodluck

Ala Moana store: ( no appt)
I asked to see Calvi card holder, Bearn card holder, & my friend tried on Oran sandals. The SA said everything is sold out. I asked if they have any purses & she said no right away w/o even asking what I was looking for. I just wanted a picotin. My friend asked for her card bc she wanted to think about the Oran sandals due to sizing. The SA said “ I don’t carry business card with me. Just ask for me at the door next time.”

Waikiki store: ( no appt)
- I was interested in the Hermes lip item so that was the first thing I asked about. Then I asked for Calvi and Bearn card holder. Everything was sold out. SA asked me if there was anything else that I wanted. I said picotin & gave my preferences . She said there was no stock and asked how long I was staying (Only 3 days), I bought the lip balm and left. I visited again the next day & got the picotin w/ same SA. In my opinion, it’s really timing. If they have it in stock they will sell it to you (non quota bags). This store has long line from opening to closing so in my opinion, they literally sell everything when they receive it.

* my friend went in March & met a very nice SA in Waikiki. I texted the SA bc I want to make an appointment, got no response.

** personally, I say go visit the store & connect with an SA. They probably want to get to know you before fulfilling non quota bags wishes.

Congrats! So happy to hear that you got your Picotin
