Hi! We just moved to Dubai and it seems next to impossible to make any connection with a sales associate or even buy anything, I’m definitely not a big spender , but buy a couple of items here and there.
I would love it if someone could help me out and connect me to a sales associate in Dubai. Seems like they’re definitely more interested in catering to the VIPs in Middle East.
I think the luxury market in Dubai is blooming in rocket speed. Wealthy russians have found their way to DXB and now it’s not about sheikhs and their wives but it’s the russians too. The social media is proving it. Someone posted in Instagram Q&A about H Dubai and the majority of the answers were about rude SA-s and outrageous prespend numbers. I don’t think it will cool down any time soon.

Agree to the above post. People in Dubai are spending a lot to get what they want. There is a lot of money being thrown around.

I got black Constance18 in Chamkilla with ghw in abu dhabi store , there it’s a quota bag. I’m not a local, but i spend in few days in galleria 18k$ and was offered just Constance

But in mall of emirates I spend twice more and got nothing 😂😂😂

Congrats on the Constance!

My take is that Dubai is having a very big and diverse client base. The tourists and expats normally go to Dubai Mall, the residents to MOE and the rich and famous go to both.

I would keep your contact in Abu Dhabi and maybe start there. Less competition than Dubai. The rich and famous will also be found in Abu Dhabi but I see a little less Hermes on the streets there

I was able to snag a non quota bag in Dubai as I wasn’t in the market for a B/K/C. I went Hermes at Dubai mall shopped with a SA for items on my wish list, most of which were not available. I was finally able to find 2 small items. Once those were secured I asked about a neutral canvas garden party I was looking for. After a bit of a wait I was called upstairs and offered two options one of which I took home.

I stopped by the Hermes in Abu Dhabi just to gauge if I would be able to get anything else and felt less welcomed there than Dubai so I didn’t even bother shopping. I see shalunovali78 had luck there so congrats!

What i heard, it is generally 1:1 for a non quota bag but i am not sure anymore. You can get a BKC as a tourist but you a certain amount of prespend. I was around 1:2,5- 1.3. There is an influencer that bought a lot of FJ and i just did the math
i heard the same that your spend needs to be at least 1:1 for any bag not just quota

Just chiming in to share my AD store experience. I spent a few months in AD recently, and tried to establish a local SA relationship, but I did not get a good vibe at that store. As compared to my experiences in NY and even Paris, the SAs just didn't seem that interested unless you were a BIG spender. I'm a regular shopper but I'm not spending 20k+ every visit. I just got the impression that unless you're spending a lot of money or just happen to really connect with an SA, getting sought after items will be difficult there given the low stock and high demand. And as others said, they didn't seem to have a good selection of anything else I really wanted to buy.
