Honestly, I barely shop abroad, but maybe this will change in the future.
The only thing I like from our local stores is that the bag is guaranteed. I was told when will my wishdate be and literally a week before, she called me up and told me every color that was available and it was up to me to pick or wait for the color I wanted. For my B25, i originally requested for an etoupe but when she called me one of the colors available was gris misty PHW and the color honestly was too gorgeous to say no to.
The reason why I am so focused on the hermes game right now is because somewhat I fullfilled most of my FJ items and currently just buying whats new or catches my eye. The other items I wish for are financially impossible haha or currently unavailable as for instance VCA Special orders are currently closed.

As for resellers, Ginza is fairly priced - they always have good deals.

That is really good to know ! then I might consider to start spending moderately in Dubai. You completely changed my mind. how about the pre-spend for exotic if you may?

Honestly this varies from one SA to another. My SA is demanding 35-40K for C18. Meanwhile, my friend was offered one 2 months before her B25 (she did not purchase anything from her C18 purchase to B25).

From what I know, its the following with my SA -
B25/K25 - Around 80k-90K
B30/K28 - lower, a 70 might do
Kelly Elan - I think 60ish from what I understood
MK- sometimes its 120 to 150 (depending if I am catching her on a good day)
C18 - 35-40k
Mini lindy 1:1 ratio
Kelly pochette - forget about it, its so rare
Anything touch is 150 and above
Picotin 18 - if ur new, 15k - if you have a longstanding relationship then she can offer it just like that
Lindy 26, offered no pre-minimum

Idk about the other bags

I'm not sure if I will have the emotional strength build a local relationship TBH given how competitive it is, especially that a big % of my spendings go to FJ and I cannot justify the price difference. I am not new, but my shopping status has been dormant for years as I shop mostly abroad.

I was intending to build a relationship locally due to C being considered a quota bag in my store, but it seems that I will have to go down the rout of resellers if I still feel the urge to have one in the future. I got few smaller

Thank you both for the insights to the Dubai market. I've moved here for about 3 months now, and it's absolutely useful to understand how it really works in the hunt for an Hermes bag. I'm looking to get a B25, a C18 and another Mini Lindy before I feel I can move on back to other brands, and whilst I'm still on the list in London, I want to keep my options as open as possible with regards to completing the "Hermes Pantheon" as I dub it.

So far, I've only made one piddling purchase in the Homeware department this past weekend, but I'm hoping to slowly build that up.

Do not risk it with the resellers, especially in our local market. There are a lot of extremely good fakes out there. A k25 can be around 70ish because it's not wanted in the market a lot. If you will buy from a local reseller, make sure that the receipt is from a local boutique.

So my friend who is a VVVIP at hermes (who also struggles with quota bags) told me today morning that she was informed by her SA that the full handover will be completed in a month or two. THIS should mean that getting quota bags should be easier for us. Honestly, it is sooooooooo frustrating with the impossible pre-minimum spend that we have to pay her. Like what do you mean I need to spend 110-120 for a MK? or even dream for a KP.

Imagine, my other friend was told that she needed to spend a 250k from ZERO (so not her total profile amount) to be eligible for a SO. Literally had to tell her that he is lyyyyying because my friend was offered an SO from her SA as a gift because he was leaving and they have been together for like 8-9 years.

My current hunt is for a MK - I am aiming for 90k (half way there) and just order it. I know that my SA is capable of just giving this out because she can be difficult. She LITERALLY gave me a cargo picotin (which awanh she claims you need to spend 10-12k) right after my b25 (and I did not buy anything in between). It was only because my sister was buying from her hoping for a picotin but she couldnt directly go to the store to pick it up so when I went alone, she had to put it on my profile.

I heard one of my friend’s friend that has pre-spending for 300K and was offered a 24/24 in DM … I personally cannot see my self settling for 1 per year and paying so much for pre spend.

I still remember my first B25 which was 5000€ and I got another one and the same year from Dubai trends for 37K and thought it was too pricy 🤣 this was back in 2017.

That happened to me with my ex SA - she didn’t tell me I was eligible for better bags. I was young and didn’t know that getting a picotin would restart everything and imaaaaaaagine I had spent 40k. The same amount my friend spent & got a Kelly pochette 😭

My advice - get your B25 first. DO NOT purchase annnnnnyyyyy bag whatsoever in between. Because it will reset your minimum spend, QB or not. Let’s say when you reach the 35k mark, ask them to put a wishlist of the specs you want. And work towards it the goal. And be direct with your SA with “how much do I still need to go to reach the target” - don’t shy away. The more that they know you understand the game, the less likely they will play around.

I had a random SA tell me one day, pay 30k and I’ll get u a bag which I declined and said, I don’t need that much to reach the MS.

Get the non QB later - who knows, maybe your SA likes u so much, they give you one after your Birkin purchase

Since there is still no store on my side of the Gulf, I don't have any experience, but in Dubai, both the high spending of locals and the demand created by tourists who are ready to spend a lot has always kept me away from trying my luck there. If you have the opportunity to visit a few times a year, I would recommend staying in touch with the SA in the UK.

Ahhh this hurt to read!! My SA just left right after putting in the request for me and I'm at 150k waiting for my first QB although half of that was for a watch that was received a month before i put in my request... and I also just accepted a non QB but was told it won't affect

Considering requesting to change my request to MK instead of K25 granted ive been waiting since end of last year but did have to swap SA's and I was told that may delay me by another few months so maybe (April-May)... Prespend is now around 180k with a bolide 25 & herbag20 spaced almost 7-8 months apart... I just feel I've overspent for a K25 and don't see myself crossing this threshold again for a MK.. any advice from other Dxb/Auh members?
