Happy online shopping

Resellers make profits on quite a bit more than Bs or Ks - and the online boutique is as convenient for them as those looking for items for personal use. Moreover, popular items sell out fast for a reason - as they don't always go to those looking for items for personal use. One item of recent notoriety were horse charms. Even though they sold out within minutes, every time they posted to H.com, resellers managed to provide a steady supply of them, marked up 100%. It's not a stretch to imagine that some resellers acquired their charms on H.com.

There's really no point on dwelling on it either way - just know that resellers are enjoying their access to H.com as much as the rest of us are.

Just IMO, re-seller are mainly making their profits on the B or K even L bags, which never shown up through their E-Commerce (maybe L sometimes), but through their local stores in order to maintain their customers' loyalty for their marketing strategy, your local SA also told their rules of no restrictions for purchasing on their web store. You mentioned that several bags were returned before, for what major reasons? Maybe they think in that way it would be more convenient for you to purchase locally. At least I never returned my ordered products before. However, I think this is not your fault at all, it is between your local H store and their on-line customer service.

Oops- I was saying it really hurts to think you've purchased something great online and then be told the next day that you can't have it. It's like taking candy from a baby.
And maybe that is their intentional marketing strategy- get us hooked easily online and then, once addicted, force us to show up at the stores to get our addictions fed. That's how it feels to me, but I'm already hooked! :smile1:

make_4_money.....thank you for your input. Although, I have experienced a limit on the US Hermes.com the other day when I place an order for a CDC. The order went through with an email confirmation and then I received another email saying that my order had been canceled and have me call them. So, I called and they told me that I have reached my limit of 3 CDC per a year. I've never heard of such policy.

I'm a Hermes newbie and I've just started to collect Hermes bracelets in May. I have been buying quite a few bracelets online such as clic clac, KDT, KDT Extreme and CDC. I'm just trying to build up a collection for myself. The weird thing is that they told me 3 CDC per a year limit but I have already bought four. I just don't understand their policy cuz' there's no fine print listed on their website.

Then I might misunderstood the original question. I did not realized she meant the same type of product. Sorry for misunderstanding the question.

There is a while CDC with silver online!!! Hurry and I hope you get it~~~ It is not the one you returned, is it??:)

Long time reader, first time posting.

Just thought I would share my first (and most likely last) shopping experience with H.com.

I always shop at the boutique but like to browse what is new on H.com. I was so excited to see a White Epsom CDC with PHW this week. Whipped out the credit card in a frenzy and ordered. Received the package and rushed home to open and major let down, they sent a CDC with GHW!!! Beautiful, but I don't wear yellow gold.

According to customer service the reference number was correct but the image online was wrong. Really????? Can't do an exchange as there none in stock (of course!).

Never again!

Unfortunately, the one on H.com was a size small--I was excited when I first saw it! But I prefer a large for stacking flexibility. Seems like large CDCs are not as common as smalls.

I retuned the white with gold. Maybe it will show up online soon and some lucky TPFer will snag it!

Thanks for looking out! :smile1:

I made my first two purchases via Hermes online two weeks ago, a mens wallet and coin purse. I ordered a card holder last week and got a call from Hermes saying the order would be cancelled, because they have a limit of two small leather items per person per year bought online. Discouraging, but if it hinders resellers then so be it.

Just so everyone knows the (new?) policy; be very selective about which ones you order online.

wow i've never heard that. that's ridiculous. what does that include? wallets, bags, and/or bracelets?

As long as they are clear about their policy and what it includes so that you can carefully choose your 2 items. It would be a shame if you bought two things early in the year and then you see something you like better later that you are not allowed to buy.

Hopefully only the items under the category "small leather goods" on the website; wallets, card cases and coin purses. That was the wording the Hermes rep used, and all three of the items I'd ordered were from that category, so I'm assuming.

There are four other sub-categories under "leather"; "bags and luggage", "agendas", "notebooks", and "accessories". I wonder if they all have the same limit.

Their policy should be clearly spelled out on their website. Getting a phone call saying "your Hermes order is being cancelled and no you can't buy a similar item either" is devastating. OK maybe not that bad, but jeez...

The policy is certainly confusing...

Quote from chincac: there is [a limit on H.com]..certainly on the european website. only 2 slgs/wallets allowed per year. not sure what other limits there are but they called to tell me since it was my 2nd jige, i can't buy anymore wallets or clutch for the rest of the year!!

On SLGs too? Hermes is a victim of its own success .. Why have a website if they want to be this strict. It really is a let down to shoppers.

Does anyone have experience with H.com not sending packages even after it states that it has been sent? Specifically, I purchased the L'Instruction du Roy Cashmere and silk shawl on Monday paid for overnight shipping. It states it was shipped and it didn't arrive. I am leaving on Saturday morning to go on vacation for 2 weeks, and that is why I paid the extra to make sure that I was here to get it. Anyway, I went on another spree this morning when I saw that there were a few things that I had been looking at, and they were available. Once again paid for overnight shipping. This afternoon I got a call from FedEx saying that the 6 things I ordered today will be delivered tomorrow. I did call the customer service, and she was nice but not overly helpful. She thinks it is in the warehouse and will let me know tomorrow. Well tomorrow is Thursday the latest it can get here is by Friday. Any advice? If it wasn't for the fact that the shawl is so hard to come by I would just cancel the order but I do have my heart set on wearing it at the reception of our vow renewal.
